Maybe because of his typo. He wrote with the departure of Alualu and Bud, the Steelers have now (he wrote “not”) lost 40% of their defensive front.

Teams may be downgrading him due to his social media egoism.

Spillane had a pretty radical injury at the end of last season. He didn't drop off. He just didn't fully recover when it was needed. I think this kid will work his tail off and find a sizable role on this defense.

Surprised they didn't keep Alualu. Our D was just better with him in there.

Steelers are supplying the league with talent.

It may not have been up to the Steelers.
He has been talking about Jacksonville being a second home. Some think he wants his family together there.

Would've loved to keep him but you're right. His story started in Jax... Can't blame the man especially if our FO wasn't gonna keep him. Solid player solid man... All good.

Good for him if that is the case. He gave the Steelers a couple of very good years at great value.

Browns beat them twice, maybe everyone should be cut.

I think this was his first almost full year, so he hit a wall. Think him and Bush together would be a good tandem, IMO.

Comp picks will help us finish the rebuild next year. I`m not expecting much in the win department for 2021 and probably not 2022 either.

Haven't done much with one...Unless we're talking about the almighty " consecutive non- losing seasons "

Right but just imagine things without one!

Without a franchise QB you need exceptional coaching. We have water boy level.

Unfortunately you might be right, but there is no caparison between the two. Aluahu was a great backup and run stuffer.

well these guys need time to make their way as well. everything i've heard is that carlos has the quickness to cause trouble in the middle. that's what made big snack so good when he first got here.

Thank you, that’s the other guys name that kept escaping me. Maybe Steelers feel him or Buggs are ready to man the spot and thats why they let Alualu go. It certainly wasn’t a lot of money.

Or maybe people are right and Alualu just wanted to go home.

We didn't Lose Alaulu. WE let him go. For 3 mil a year we could have made a simple move to keep him. They let him go. I may not be in the front office but i would bet everything i own that they let him walk. Probably didnt even offer him a deal.

The part I don't understand is...Why do you let VW go the next day if you WANTED Alualu...Cut VW, Tell Alualu we'll give you 6.5 or 7...

Or did they just gamble/ assume.. nobody would want him or/ they could get him cheaper?

It really was not extreme money he signed for and he is not chasing a ring with Jax (likely not here either), who knows if or what offer was made, but it might just show how tight things really are for the Steelers.

While the team will never acknowledge they are in rebuild, these moves or lack there of) pretty much indicate they are doing just that. I honestly cannot remember how Alualu played during the losing stretch. With all the injuries I certainly would not put anything on one player, I wonder if they just feel that we have to get younger and guys need to get experience and show what they have.
