While I obviously want that, I can see that pissing off the defensive players.

And there was that story right after the season about Watt skipping his exit meeting. You wonder if there is tension in that locker room.

Like I said nobody to blame but the guy at the top. Doesn't seem to trust the guy who is actually hired to manage the team and been doing it for years.

I see Danny Shelton was released. Maybe an inexpensive option to take a look at?

I wonder if Ben reconsiders his restructuring and just flat out retires when this is all done....... We have SOOOOOO many holes to fill in the draft and whatever's left in free agency.... with nothing but an empty cup with a few rattling quarters to offer.

Money is one thing but it suggests who these players see as up and comers. Steelers aren't one of them whether fans and FO want to realize it or not.

I feel like their is some problems internally within the organization. Rooney, Tomlin, and/or Ben i think are the causes of whatever issues are going on. Now you got one of your top playmakers in Hilton leaving for a division rival. Something isn't right

Even when they did they didn't. Ab got 10 million fully gurnateed as the best in the game when people like odell and julio got like 5x that. That's also why leveon bill didn't resign. He wasn't getting the upfront fully gurnsteed money. Its jsut what they don't do.

No, I get that, I was just saying there’s no way for Steelers to be players this year.

They’ve showed signs of loosening the purse strings lately with some guarantee money, we’ll see how they handle it next offseason when they have more money to play with.

LOL no it doesn’t say that at all. They are going where the money is. He got over 4 million for one year, Alualu would have been cheaper to bring back.

Players sign with teams that are in last place, it’s all about the Benjamin’s. Come on, man.

Sad when the players can see it but the people who can actually do something about it cannot.

I liked his attitude, till he said the "players we lost was on to better things," to be fair he could have meant that statement 2 ways ........ also he didnt seem to excited .. lol

players sign where they get the money. Period. The steelers are perpetually cash strapped and are not players in free agency. never have been big players in it and are not going to start now.

I'm really interested to see what the Steelers do in 2021 in terms of drafting/developing and who their top targets are in 2022. As much as 2021 is going to suck, they have a chance to be really damn good next season. This isn't a rebuild, it's a re-tool thanks to a ton of cap space.

These are all moves dues to the cap.space available. They simply didn't have the money to pay Hilton. Nothing here shows an internal conflict and most of this was expected.
