The guy he hashtagged is the official photographer for the Steelers so my money is now on revealing his HOF bust.

Yeah my post was tongue in cheek, he has a very cushy life, I doubt he wants to get back in the grind of the NFL as a coach or GM.

I could see him as an assistant GM or special consultant like Mean Joe was, but I think you're right the competitive fire seems to have dimmed for him and he is happy doing what he is doing.

I can only laugh. I vividly remember the Steelers boards in the 1999-2003 era. People were saying the same thing about Cowher as they are about Tomlin. Hopefully someday fans will look back after Tomlin's gone and wish we still had him. He has his flaws but so did Cowher and even Noll.

I never harped on Bill and certainly did not Noll. MT should have been sent packing several seasons ago. Never thought that with Cowher, but at the end of the Chaz era it was apparent that the time had come. He simply could not get the most out of his players anymore. Cowher did but fell short. Tomlin hasn't got the most out of his players in a decade.

Cowher would never come back with Tomlin and Colbert here.

If Cower were to come back and win it would be cause of Tomlins players.

One poster I can't forget had a graphic at the bottom of every post. it was Cowher bobbing his head at the bottom of the screen and the looking up with "milk" all over his chin. You can guess what they were trying to convey. Lots of people were complaining about turtle ball and 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

At least there was discipline, accountability, and some coaching going on. As long as I live, I'll never look back on Tomlin's epic underachieving in the post season nostalgically. Especially not the past 4 years.

Cowher had the most epic loss...to Chargers in AFC Championship. But Tomlin is by far the worst Steelers coach of the past half century.

That was because Cowher insisted on playing Marty Schottenheimer-style, "playing not to lose, you lose" football. It took Cowher until 2005 to learn that lesson, when the Steelers were aggressive offensively in beating the Bengals, Colts, Broncos, and Seahawks.

Considering he’s only the 3rd and the other 2 are Noll and Cowher, a ton of NFL coaches would be the worst in the last 50 years if the coaches for the Steelers.

Cowher took Neil O'Donnell, Kordell Stewart and guys like Tomczak and Maddox to playoff wins, AFC title games and a Super Bowl. Give Cowher Big Ben from the beginning and he wins 3 super bowls, at least.

Tomlin is not good. Period. He is below average. Any other team and he would have been fired after 4 or 5 years, maybe less.

It would not be a good thing if one day we long for Tomlin. That would mean the Steelers are bad with a bad coach.

So? Steelers were a mash unit and the starting FS couldn't play because of sickle cell anemia.

After 4 years he’d only won one Super Bowl and been to another... Tough crowd.

I loved Cowhers passion and fire. I also loved the fact that AB and Bell wouldn't have been allowed to fester like boils if he was here when they were. However, Cowher was sometimes too stubborn for his own good, like the AFC Championship game against NE where he insisted on running against an unbalanced line instead of adjusting to something else. I don't think Tomlin deserves a lot of the abuse he takes here, but I do think that Cowher was a better overall head coach.
