Yeah it seems a little lame to me. Same thing with Edmunds.

Nothing wrong with high expectations as long as they’re realistic.

    T. Edmunds.
    He's my redheaded stepchild.
    LoL.
    It was Jarvis Jones.
    Ziggy Hood before that.
No real hate 2 redheads or stepchildren out there.

I don’t think a contract value was ever listed.

Your last sentence wasn’t so much related to the contract negotiation but rather it was tied to the tag value. The tag value for an edge rusher is/was higher.

Maybe it wasn't a 'good offer'.
Edge rusher would more than likely pay better on future contracts, since it holds a higher value on the tag which is compiled of top paid players salaries at that position.

So much of what you post about Dupree is just flat-out wrong. Dupree was generating pressure, not just cleaning up. Also, his ability to close once a quarterback is scrambling does have value. He forced fumbles with sacks on plays like that at least twice last year, against the Broncos and Ravens.

Dupree finished with 28 quarterback pressures last season despite playing only 11 games. He was among the league leaders when he went down.

The defense declined dramatically once they lost Dupree.

Why should he take less money than the market would allow? That makes no sense.

If the market sucks for Dupree and he falls back into the Steelers' range, great. He is much better than Highsmith right now. I just don't see that happening and I see no reason why Dupree should give the Steelers a huge discount. I'd love it if he did, but that's not realistic.

Actually, Dupree switched sides first, moving to the left because they still wanted to try to get something out of Jones. Watt got even better and Dupree flourished when they made the switch.

The sour grapes on this thread really are reaching comical proportions.

Rehab going well. This will make GM’s more comfortable opening their wallets for him. Only chance of him coming back here was if teams were worried about his recovery and the market was low.
