The new salary cap floor is $180m. Perhaps it'll rise to $185m.

    ... So...

$188 Million then. Only $2 Million off my final prediction. Very good indeed.

The steelers know what they are doing. They some how manage to field a team without the advice of the fans. If a player gets cut because of a cap hit it's because they just don't want to pay him anymore and they have an alternative planned. Ben's salary will have a huge impact on how much $ we have available to spend. Not that we have ever gone out in FA and spent a bunch of $....so I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I could see us signing Watt and a RB. Maybe some 2nd tier O-linemen w/ upside for depth. We can use the draft to plug what ever holes we can't fill.

As long as we have Kahn ... I'm not worried about the salary cap. He is a genius ... with juggling numbers

Every year we are pressed against the cap regardless what it is. Meanwhile, other teams are sitting on $40m-$50m cap space and a roster loaded with young talent. I know it’s not in the team’s DNA, but maybe we do need to take a step back and rebuild considering the Ben era is coming to an end

While a lot( not all) of those 40- 50 mill cap space teams continue 2 lose, or as we are judged.....Go 2 the SB.

Well, if we're being honest it hasn't been especially difficult to lay a prediction up somewhere close to the pin. Last year's cap was $198M, and the NFLPA/owners set this year's floor at $175M before the season even began. Through that the common estimate was $180M, with playoff/SB revenue taking it to around $185M.

Jags and Jets could field a whole new team with all the FA and cuts coming.

Colts are in a great spot, already have a good team, they can do some good things here.

Jesus how did the Saints dig that hole for themselves! Crazy

Colts are in a good spot but their cap space is more like $40m after Wentz is added, and remember that insane 2018 draft class they had are eligible for second contracts now, Braden Smith, Quentin Nelson and Darius Leonard will all be coming off their rookie deals soon and looking for top of the market money.

No, I think they should pay him more than anyone. Dig themselves a hole for a mediocre player is good if you hate the girls.

The Steelers have 18 players under contract for 2022, including Ben (whose contract will be voided after the 2021 season), Zach Gentry, Benny Snell, Derek Watt, Justin Layne, Isaiah Buggs, UG III, Carlos Davis, and James Pierre - none of whom are starters.

Toe say a rebuild is coming is a gross understatement.

derek watt was restructured and save 880,000. see we are getting into these minimal restructures to save where we can. much of the reason i was saying guys like samuels may be cut. vince needs cut. canaday possibly. small amounts add up. 182.5 hurts us currently. even adding small contracts like hassenauer and allen cut into our bottom line. wow, just wow.

over the cap says we have 5.5 million under the cap right now. we have to sign 8 draft picks and a practice squad plus carry 3 million into the season for injuries. then add the last two salaries to equal 53 players by the start of the season. doesn't add up. so much for bringing back anyone like hilton or sutton right now. maybe not even spillane. moves have to be made.
