is the short passing game and getting the ball out of Ben's hands in 2.3 secs his doing? because that wasn't here before.. I know he was supposed to bring a lot of pre-snap motions, which we've seen, but as to the dink n dunk, I'm not sure.

There is no run threat and no balance so whatever they try is not going to be very effective imo. I can't speak to the Xs and Os of RF, Canada or Ben calling plays at the line, but I can tell you the offensive line needs improvement. Injuries have taken a toll obviously but guys are getting blown back routinely.

Ben has had some good solid halfs this year, even has a few deep tds. Does he have 60 minutes in him will be the question. Defense took a hit but looks better then when Shazier went down. Much better secondary & subs so far. Who has a better defense than the broken down Steelers? Baltimore? :lolol:

Roethlisberger has always been a little inconsistent, but at one point, he was having arguably his best season. Then teams figured some things out and he started to break down.

Its been put on ice due to real innovation. Ben runs the show and Ol Randy is the perfect puppet.

I think the lack of a running game has really been the key to the offense being offensive. Defenses are just keying on that short passing game that has been the "go to" this year.

Connor can't stay on the field.

Also I don't like the way they use him... he doesn't have the speed to run sideways on long developing plays. In college he was a north/south runner.

There are many factors ruining the running game. Connor's health is one of them. The poor play of the offensive line is another. That Roethlisberger will almost never take a snap from center hurts as well. It limits the options in the running game. The lack of commitment to running is also a problem. This team had a running game earlier in the season, so they can at least do it a little if they commit to it.

You need the hogs upfront. Our are beat up, have missed time and have been shuffled around the whole year. It's easy to blame starrett or RF, or the running backs but from game one, no camp and injuries there is no cohesion that you can just fix in a short stretch when we had 3 games in 12 days and the rona to deal with. As fans we think we can save a magic wand and fix these things in a day or two. We are lucky to field five guys to play at this point.

Agreed. It's not all on the coaching, though cutting Wisniewski was a significant error and the coaches certainly had an influence there. Injuries are a factor. Losing Banner in the opener hurt. He's a better run blocker than Okorafor. Now they are down two starters with Feiler out, and his replacement is on the shelf as well. That said, other teams are running the ball better through even more diversity up front. It isn't just the injuries.

no it's not just the injuries, agreed. Short weeks, shuffling players, I don't think DD has been healthy since last year, McDonald being out for a few, ebron not a very good blocker, many different things to deal with while trying to fix this problem mid season.

Yup. That is yet another way the lost bye week screwed them.

Does anyone remember Ben best game this season. It was after he had that week's rest because of covid-19 I believe to rest his body and arm.He was sharp and accurate. We all joked about giving him the week off ... if he was gonna play that well. I believe he asked Tomlin and of course the answer was no ... lol. Ben, is old and need more then one days rest during the week

I don't think there is a single NFL head coach who is "stupid". I am pretty sure there are NFL head coaches who have their priorities wrong.

People place priority on strange things.

Think about the mother who lets her child act like a complete ass in the store. She is probably not stupid and she probably loves that child. But what she fails to see is that she is making people around her child dislike her child, she is making her child spoiled which will be hard for her child to overcome later in life.

I "know" Tomlin is smart. He is wary, he is cagey, he is sharp, he just doesn't place a priority on discipline! Or winning for that matter. His priority is to be loved by his people.
