He said they're optimistic about Heyward (quad) returning, Hilton making progress, Dangerfield and Derek Watt to work this week.

How’s Tyson Aluala. I had heard that it might have been helmet to the knee bruise.

Probably out for some time but not the season. We need him for the playoffs so it’s time to see what our backups have

Hopefully the other guys can hold down the fort until Aluala can return. Buggs did some nice things from a pass rush perspective vs the Rats. His run defense needs some work though.

One of my concerns vs the Dallas offense is they have the speed to get outside at RB. What should help is that our OLB won't be concerned with the LJ run factor. They can focus more on playing rush defense as opposed to spying LJ.

I would keep cam out and let him rest even if he's good to go. Should be able to dominate without him so why risk it

If he’s good to go then what’s the risk?

    Hey Smitch89.

I clearly get where you are coming from. However, IMO, if a player is ready to go then he should play. As far as the JV thing. Uh, Uh my friend. No way. That is how a team gets itself in trouble with that mentality. And we know the track record of this team versus so-called "inferior" opponents. Never, ever underestimate an opponent. Never! Not a good mind-set to take. Ever!

Sure, the rest would most definitely be ideal. Yes, the snaps going to others who normally would get none or very little would also be beneficial. However, I have learned about a thing called "momentum" and "chemistry" when it comes to sports and that is:

You do not want to mess with a good thing if it can be avoided. Take care.

I'd dress him but downgrade to limited snaps if necessary. He was in and out a couple times last week with injuries. The risk is reinjuring what is an aging player who we will need down the stretch. This game should be a good week to rest players and still come away with the win.

I thought the first time he left was a cramp. I can understand sitting him if he isn't 100 percent to be safe, but this team is very thin on the defensive line, which has been one of its strengths. The Cowboys are choosing between one of a couple of practice squad quarterbacks this week, so they are going to pound away with Zeke Elliott. They might be able to do that effectively if the Steelers go into a game missing not only two starters, but also their top backup on the defensive line.

    Hey SteelerGlenn.

I just wanted to pick you for this post (smile). I have not talked to you in awhile, I think. I hope all is well in your World. All is good here.

Speaking of interviews, I just wanted to throw this in somewhere, some thread. You should have seen the rats' coach "hairball" after the game during an interview. He really did not whine much but his body language (facial expressions) said it all. What a sniveling baby. You could feel it seething through the TV. Typical.

As I have always stated about the rats, the most classless organization in the league. He does not know how to lose gracefully. He is constantly performing on the sidelines, jumping up and down like a four-year old when things do not go his way. It is always a pleasure to beat the rats and to watch his subsequent interviews as well. You can count on him for very terse answers and the annoying look on his face in defeat.

Agree with all that. It's just since the team got there bye week screwed up because of the Titans since they won't have another bye the rest of the season until hopefully the playoffs it be nice to give guys rest here and there when it's needed. Injured last game could be a good time to get a key player rest

    Hey Smitch.

I am with you. Yes, whenever you can "squeeze" in some extra rest that is a good thing for sure. Especially if the player is not 100%. I do go back and forth with this at times. It is good for those who do not get much playing time to get it when available. Although I hate to see it happen due to injury.

The coaching staff is up on this. Given that, I have confidence in them on the best way to handle these things.

    Take care.
