Major props, instinct for the ball and fills the lane, all you can ask from a MLB. That hit against Henry last week told me everything I need to know about him.

bonus Johnny Lattner’s grandkid more Notre Dame love!

Spillane is playing out of his mind right now. ILB is now the least of our concerns. We need to figure out who's going to man the D line.

This is the kind of thing that happens in a year where a team is the team of destiny. A guy gets injured and his replacement is arguably better.

Lady Luck keeps riding with us.

Sure the hell seemed to happen for the Patriots way too many times.

Spillane is missing speed and that was and will be exploited, unfortunately. Good player though.

I would posit that Bush has been exposed in coverage even with his speed. Just my opinion

Speed or no speed, it's likely the steelers do not win this game without his all pro contribution today. He was great from start to finish. Also, no linebacker can cover any wide receivers anyways. Even Bush couldnt.

    Even the play in which Spillane was beat only happened for 2 reasons;
    1. Spillane was lined up on the slot receiver
    2. Spillane had good coverage for 3 seconds until Jackson scrambled and bought 2 more seconds. A linebacker is only expected to cover a slot receiver for 3 seconds at most. That wasn’t Spillane’s fault. Just as it was a tough cover for Williams on the TD pass

Ravens were the perfect team to export it, still played good. Not every ILB has 4.40 speed.

He's not scared to make a mistake, which he sometimes does. But, I'll take confidence any day. Seems to have good instincts

Spillane has toughness and instincts. Good enough for me. The kid is playing way above expectations and I like it.

Dude has been ballin'. I think D. Bush gets trucked by Henry on that goal line tackle fwiw. What a great underdog story so far. Keep it up RS41!

Agreed. Which begs the question, why do we keep lining up LB’s on WR’s?

It’s our lineup to stop the run. Lots of play calling comes down to that one matchup

I understand getting caught occasionally with the wrong personnel on the field, but that matchup seems to happen way too often.

Williams was covering a receiver on the TD pass. I think we sell out for the run (results notwithstanding today).

I’m just saying the speed thing might not hurt us as much as we feared. I was wondering about it myself.

He may have only run a 4.77 second 40 but he plays way faster than that. He broke hard on the ball for that pick 6 and hustled to nearly recover that fumble in bounds as well. Measurables don't always tell the whole story. He doesn't look slow out there at all. He's definitely not slower than Vince Williams.

I must watch differently than some because I didn't see his lack of speed hurting anything. What I see is how quickly he reacts which leads me not to notice how fast he is at running the 40. I'm a big fan of D. Bush, but this dude has me thinking a lot less about his loss right now.
