After 4 games the Steelers are:

    Offense:

10th in ppg 15th in ypg

    1.packers
    2.seahawks
    3.cowboys
    4.browns
    5.bills
    6.saints
    7.raiders
    8.chiefs
    9.ravens
    10. Steelers

    Defense:
6th in ppg 3rd in ypg
    2nd rush ypg 15th pypg

    1. ravens
    2. colts
    3. rams
    4. bears
    5. cardinals
    6. steelers
    7. chiefs
    8. bucs
    9. dolphins
    10. 9ers

    sacks- tied 1st
    takeaways-tied 5t

Big difference from last year is the lower amount of takeaways... which we knew was going to happen.

Only Ravens, Steelers, and Chiefs have both a top 10 offense and defense.

These next 4 games will be telling where we are in a stats perspective, and will put to rest if we can beat good teams or not.

Steelers defensive rankings dropped significantly after Fulgham and Wentz b!tch-slapped the D. I hope Butler/Tomlin has a plan for the Browns, or we're gonna be in deep do-do. Jarvis Landry and OBJ are light years better than Eagles WRs.

As long as our offense keeps improving we should be ok. Not worried yet

It's ironic that this offense is more explosive with Conner, JuJu, RaeRae and Claypool, etc... with Finctner at OC... than it was with Bell, AB, etc... and Haley at OC. We finally have the offense we've been dreaming of, but the defense has regressed.... again. Imagine that.

Well we have a better defense than Seahawks and as good as chiefs.... ravens have a better one but they can’t win games from behind so I don’t know. We are a good team, just not as good as we want to believe. I’m thinking 2016-2017 levels again. Who knows lol

I honestly don't think Sphincter is the OC, Ben is. Which is why as long as Ben is in, our offense is good, when Ben is out, our offense is a dumpster fire.

Let’s see if we can maintain these rankings next the quarter of games. Even if we don’t as long as we win I’m good

i think we gave up 10 3rd downs in a row yesterday, or something close to that. Not good but hopefully that will improve.

Our offensive ranking would be higher if we didn’t kneel down to kill the clock in 3 out of 4 games. I’m sure we would have put up more points to inflate things.

maybe other teams above us would have too and it’s a wash.

But, despite our current record I think we are a wild card team at best. Currently...

These guys need to harden up, play with an angry yet focused chip on their shoulder, and make these next four games be a statement of who they are in this league.

For some reason, I almost feel like they have been playing slightly restrained, trying not to put too much tape out there or something (stupid, I know) Like that. Maybe because they felt like they could win from 3rd gear....? Crazy thoughts.

I just have higher expectations of what they are. But I’m happy to brag about 4-0

The offense is showing it has more upside. The defense should be ok. There is reason for some optimism.

We continue to allow close games to lesser teams (play down to the opposition level), which is and has been a long term concern.

If we show we step up our play against the contenders when we play them, then you will know we are going places.
