am i the only one that hates the Steelers schedule this year? i dont mean the teams they play, but the times they play.

i know they have a lot of prime time games, but out here on the west coast i love the 10am start. i get my football fix in early and then i have the rest of the day. the 1pm games are terrible. right in the middle of the day. it pretty much kills the whole day. they only have 6 10am games this year.

sorry, im sure most people dont care, but anything besides a 10am start just bugs me. sure sunday night games are nice and so are monday night games, but THURSDAYS really blow. i just like it when they are playing at the same time as most of the other teams and thats 10am on sunday. it feels more like a football day.

I work a rotating schedule. I only get 2 Sundays off every 8 weeks. And on one of my Sundays, they're playing on a Thursday! :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated:

No complaints here....I dont care for the thursday games either....they're going into overkill having thursday games too.

The only ones I sometimes hate are the 4:15/25pm (eastern) starts....but generally i dont care when they play!

I like going to 1 pm home games. You still get home at a decent time. Last sunday I hit an accident of 79 north on the way home, I didn't get home till 9:30. But, it happens the Steelers are a huge TV draw, some of course the will be in a lot of 4:15 games and primetime games.

Perhaps it's "you know who's" way of saying us left-coasters need to be doing something else on Sunday mornings - but I agree with the 10 am starts. I also really like those Saturday morning college FB games that start at 9am out here.

And just a personal question - what exactly is it that you "Love 'em Big?" Beer mugs? Feet? Winnibegos? Waves? National debt? Lottery stakes? O-Linemen? Gender and preferences most likely dictate one's response to this.

Growing up on the west coast, I MUCH prefer rolling out of bed and heading straight to the local Steelers bar for a 10am kickoff.

The prime time games are ridiculous on the east coast -- up past midnight. Done by 9pm-ish on the left coast. I don't really like the prime time games. Unless you live in the city, it makes traveling for the game a pain. I'm traveling to Cincy for the game in October and it's a Sunday nighter. Instead of being able to go home on Sunday after the game, I have to spend Sunday night in gawdforsaken Cincinnati and leave on Monday. It's not exactly a city you want to spend extra time in. And I've got a company that wants me to work with them in Columbus,OH in November the morning after the Steelers Monday nighter against the Chiefs. Now I can't go to that game because I'd be a fool to turn down the financial opportunity in Columbus. If it were a Sunday afternoon game, I could attend.

Thursday night games blow too. It's like getting drunk before the party starts. By the time Sunday rolls around, you're already done.

If I was still living in Pittsburgh I wouldn't like the late games..(not talking the primetime games) but I think living outside the area gives me a better chance to see the game on Network TV.... so far so good..... I get tired of needing to go to a Bar to watch the game...

The only games I hate are Thursday night games because I refuse to pay for the games.

I truly feel bad for you Americans. I can't believe how many of you can't watch the games every week. Up here the Steelers games are on CBS, and if it's a late game, it's on TSN (our version of ESPN) or NBC. I can't imagine that with how popular football is down there that you guys can't get all the games. Just seems odd to me. Why wouldn't every cable company out there offer the Sunday Ticket?

I love the late games (Thursday, Sunday or Monday, it's all good). It gives me a chance to watch all the other games and watch some of my fantasy football players. I love flipping between 4 or 5 1:00 pm games, then flipping between all the 4:15 games, then catching the Steelers at night. I wish they played at night every week.

Gawd, 10am would just seem so foreign to me to be watching a football game at that time. 1:00 is my favorite and 8:00 games because I get to watch them in their entirety, although the waiting around for the 8:00 games kind of sucks. Love Thrusday night football, Monday night football, it's all good. Sunday Ticket is the best thing ever, never miss a Steeler game :herewego:

I hate the Thursday night games because I just don't think they should be playing on Thursday night! It cuts down on preparation, risks injury, and makes my Sunday REALLY boring.

When the Steelers play on Thursday, or Monday I love Thursday or Monday, but end up hating Sunday. Whereas when they play on Sunday, I don't mind Thursday or Monday. Odd

Aside from being able to watch every Steelers game, I hated owning the Sunday ticket. I'd sit on my couch with my remote in hand flipping between four or five games after every play. It was too much.

I'd rather be at a sports bar where I've got a general read on all of the games at once and can quickly focus is on one game when the crowd watching that game starts to ooh and ah. Plus, I like being out and about and enjoy the atmosphere of being around a bunch of other football fans rather than just chilling out and home by myself.

The problem is when you're somewhere that doesn't have the NFL channel.

I was in a hotel last Thursday night and couldn't find the Packers/Bears game. I called a buddy up to see what network it was on and he informed me it was the NFL Network. The hotel didn't carry that channel and I didn't feel like driving around looking for a sports bar. I had to download the 'NFL Mobile' app (it's only $5 a month) and I laid in bed and watched the game on my iPhone.

I'd never go with Dish. I've had 3 friends with it and all of them ripped it out within 6 months.

I like the added Thursday games, the NFL is the only league that i can handle watching any team play. I like the Sunday 4pm games too, since there's less games being played at that time I have a better chance of watching it on cable. 3 for 3 so far.. Steelers vs Chokeland is on cable :D

OK... First off... Love em big, so do I, And, I agree, I hate having to wait `till late in the day, to watch the game.
Sometimes, it gives me a chance to do something around the house, that needs done, but, usually, I have my schedule cleared for the Steeler game on Sunday!
It`s kind of a "mixed emotions" kinda thing for me...
I don`t like waiting for the game to start (here), but if they are on later, I can usually see it from the comfort of home, instead of spending money at the bar, to watch it...
The other thing that made me respond to this, is being amazed at how I can talk to so many people from different time zones, who watch the games, and get their takes on this.
For instance, the games you watch at 10 am, I am watching at 1 o`clock. (And god only knows what day, or time, Lizard is watching them)...
Also, It never dawned on me that Shaner is watching from out of the country, even though I knew a few other posters were.. Maybe that explains why he is always so "contentious"...
All that aside... The biggest reason I don`t like the later games, is, that I have to get up and get into work the next day, no matter what time they play, and it`s easier, if they fit it into the middle of "MY" day.. LOL... :lolol:
By the way, RAY D... If it ain`t too personal, what the hell job do you do?
You can pm me, if you don`t wanna put it on the board, but that`s a hell of a rotating shift. The only ones I can think of like that are firefighters, cops, doctors/nurses, miners, oilriggers, and ???
Just curious, `cause I remember replying to how you could DVR a game, and keep yourself in suspense, before...
GO STEELERS! No matter what time/day we play!!! :herewego:

Man, I'm loving the Steelers schedule this year! Three Sunday night games, one Thursday night game, and one Monday night game, plus both Ravens games are always on, the Eagles, Giants, and Dallas games will be on. Almost all of their games will be on in my area except the Cleveland games. I will probably go to a sports bar or someones house who has Sunday Ticket to watch those two games. So I'm in 7th heaven!

Living in Northern California I hate the late starts for me 4:25 pm East Coast Time which is 1:25 my time.

It is is really neat to get up Sunday Mornings, chow on some breakfast and then watch the Steelers at 10:00 am...

I live on the west coast, so I prefer Steeler games at 1:25, because most of the games start at 10 AM and since I have sunday ticket I get to watch any game I want before the steelers game, I wished all their game starts were in the afternoon......
