I know it is easier said than done but the gameplans appear to be poor schematically as well as the execution and I get ...the limitations on personnel but if the weather is decent ..why not run a quick hit run and shoot type offense Sunday where Duck will have 3-4 WRs (including Samuel) that will spread the Ravens out.

Try quick slants and maybe some bubble screens but a slow reacting safety can no longer just sit back and tee off due to the new rules.

That may also be able to get JuJu in one on ones where a safety will not roll over into coverage or the very least then use him as a decoy.

Remember when Steelers with Odonnell had Hastings, Rivers, Mills, Johnson and Slash and Holiday?

These WRs may not be that crop but they are still athletic and can contest for the ball.

Opening with 4 wide has to neutralize the suspect Oline play with their inconsistent play this year and from guys coming lose and teeing off.

Off Topic but speaking of Oline...the Munchak factor is also taking some UFAs and developing them to be serviceable in a year or so...thats another area where a guy would leave to FA and the Steelers had a decent backup to fill in.

    Thoughts?

Wish I could agree with you my man! Sadly, Randy Fichtner, since Week 3 of the 2018 Season, has shown me more than I need to know. He simply cannot get out of his own way.

The worst part is that, until Ben goes (whom we need), we are stuck with him.

I'm not wedded to Fichner, but I'm not sure what scheme he can run with this team.

if he goes pass heavy, his QB throws fair-catchable INTs and can't apparently throw across the middle.
If he goes run heavy, after Connor, the other guys get 2.5 yds a carry. And Connor can't complete a game.
His OL is getting old before our eyes.

Don't know if a Paul Brown, Sid Gillman, Bill Wash clone could make this O much better than it is.

He can’t throw quick slants, he is too short.

If Steelers had a reliable killer punter, I'd say punt on 2nd/3rd down if they don't gain big on 1st down. Let the D put points on the board - they might surpass the 10 pts the O seems to be topped at recently.

Brees is the same height and can do that when he needs to but then again, he's Drew Brees and Duck isn't.

I'm taller than Drew Bree's and except for the 500 TDpasses 60,000 yds and $150 million, I'm the superior QB option in every way. Ok, maybe not quite ever way.

Forget Lynch we have both Glemm* and now AFam* waiting in the wings confidently poised to take over QB duties and lead this team to the Promised land. :drinks:

    * A recent Focus Group exercise found that Glemm and AFam were much more viable stage names than their real names.

It's obviously what one would expect in such dire circumstances.

At my age, hell, even at best in my prime, I doubt I'd last 2 snaps in the NFL.

Age? Are you worried about age? Heck Brady and Brees are 40+ (so was Manning) and George Blanda played till he was 50. So fasten that chin strap, tape up that groin and get on out there and do some hero stuff. Championships are 90% mental and the other half is physical. :clapping:

You only play Lynch if Duck throws 3-4 ints, or he gets injured.

Well then I'm not alone in distinctly remembering when they introduced the NFL to replace Jousting during the Crusades, :dancing:
