Does anyone remember when the Steelers played with physicality?

The pussification of all things, especially football, is on going. I kid you not, former players are talking flag football. It's all about money. Some poor idiot blows all his money and then says it's caused by CTE.

 

I still have not been able to figure out how you can call "Hitting a defense player" call on a player that has the football?

I fully understand why the call was invented; to protect WRs that were running routes across the middle that did not have the ball; but as soon as the receiver catches the football you have to be able to hit him.

 

At least Kameron Kelly didn't do that...

Tomlin, generally wakes up after a bad game. I really don't blame the players that they get poor game plans that stop success. Any team having their starting safety will help tons too. The defense should be even better this year with Bush the stud IF Tomlin can rebound. You can't have your offense failing on 3rd downs, causing your defense to trot back out on the field in 5 minutes.

As good as our oline is they can’t maul guys in the run game.....an rb can have a big day, but you rarely see them take over a game like they used to. Sad but true.

 

Or how about some Glen Edwards, Mel Blount type of football
players. Gosh those were the days. Hell even Ryan Clark would play
physical football. Now we really have nobody willing to lay the wood.

 

NFL has taken "laying the wood" out of the game. Steelers are still adjusting on their safety play.

You can still play clean hard hitting football, It is not taught correctly
