They were fighting and choking each other in the stands the last game.

It should not have came down to kicker. Did you listen to Coach Obvious’s post game presser? He said that Ben was cleared to go back in the game when he came back to the field. He admitted that he should have put him back in the game a couple of series before he went in. But coach got caught up “in the flow of the game.” Clearly inept coaching. Wow I am speechless.

I gotta say, today we got a glimpse of the future without Big Ben, and I don't like it one bit. Darker days are coming. I guess you're right, there's no point in getting mad anymore.

So IF what you're saying is true, then that Deer in The Headlights gaze along the sidelines all these years was really MT just staring at Uranus?

We didn't get a glimpse of anything except a QB, who doesn't practice with the 1st team, coming in cold. That's not what we'll get when Ben leaves. We'll get a QB who practices with the starters and is expecting to play. What the results are remains to be seen of course. We may end up with a stud or a dud, but you can't compare a guy coming off the bench to a starter.

I would love to have things to say where I could refute this chit. But I can’t. You’re right.

Steelers never should have been needing a kick to tie a 2 win team. Out-coached the last two weeks... the Steelers sure as hell weren’t out-talented today....

Tampa 2 defense sucks. I watched football every weekend and the Steelers defenders are the only team that can never breakup a pass. They let them catch it and then tackle. Week in and week out so frustrating.

I am only one fan, but this debacle made me decide to not spend another dime on Steeler merch, tickets or anything until Tomlin and Butler are gone.

I can't claim to know what was going on with Ben at the time, but I call complete BS on MT for that statement. I think he tried to put on his Big Boy Coach pants and had a wild idea that we would be fine the rest of the game with Dobbs (using his one good pass that kept us in the game vs the Ravens as a litmus).

    Poor coaching.

Right. It's bullsh!t. You put your best players on the field when a win is there for the taking. Leaving Dobbs in and hoping he wouldn't lose the game, and that this defense would make a 4 point lead hold up is playing not to lose, not playing to win. In my honest opinion, this is Tomlin's worst loss, and this is from someone that generally thinks he does a good job. He mangled the situation with Ben's injury, and the timeouts on the GTG series on Oakland's last drive. He is also sticking with a defensive coordinator that is clearly in over his head.

The losses to teams they should beat isn't a mirage or a fantasy; it happens far too often with this crew. This year, much of it has been that they have been terrible in the turnover ratio department. But, that's not all of it. This team always seems to start sluggish against bad teams. Not mediocre teams, bad teams. If it's over confidence, then that's on Tomlin. If it's they think they can play one half and still win, that too, is on Tomlin. If the Steelers take a 17-0 lead into the second quarter against the Raiders, they are likely finished. You let a 2-10 team hang around with guys that have jobs hanging in the balance, you're going to get the best they have. Well, today, the Steelers were coached like a 2-10 team.

It was clear to everyone in that stadium (except MT, obviously) what Gruden was up to at that point. Call the freakin' timeout.

Tom Brady Drew Breeze will chew us up and spit us out. Thanks coach T for having a disciplined
well prepared team ready to play week in week out. I have seen enough.

Realist saw the writing on the wall after the Jags win but everybody wanted to celebrate the fluke win. Instead of fixing the glaring needs. Now they haven't won a game since.

If this is true and Ben was cleared to go back in the game and he said he had nothing to do with the process of being able to go back into the game I’m sorry I don’t believe Ben and think he is full of crap. Either Ben is lying or Mike Tomlin needs to be fired straight up for that decision it’s real simple.

These glaring needs have been an issue for several seasons now, they weren't going to be fixed. They're only addressed with quips, quotes and puns. After all, the standard is the standard.

We have the talent to be 12-1.

And we really aren’t all that many plays away from being there.

    Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Ifs, buts, candies, nuts... et al.

Well-coached teams don't beat themselves like we do on a weekly basis.

Well both Tomlin and Ben have said it was Tomlin who made the decision when to get back in. Ben's not lying and I hardly ever believe Tomlin and most the time gives stupid answers like he was in the flow of the game.! Or we didn't have anybody else to cover Allen other than a LB! Or i wanted to save and time out and ends up he takes a timeout back to Pgh. The ongoing in game adjustment he never makes! And you don't believe Ben, I never believed in Tomlin.

You will see the light when Ben retires and how Ben has carried Tomlin for years now and the winning records was because of Ben despite Tomlins coaching ability.

no offense but that means nothing. Lots of teams are a couple of plays from being a top team.

It's the little things that separate a bad team from a championship one.

Absolutely. We just need to fix a few things. We do not need a wholesale dismantling as some suggest, player wise.

    Now, as for coaching,...

I was a big Tomlin supporter until the Psts game last year. My support has gone downhill from there.

Cowher always used to say it's a fine line between being a winning team and a losing team.
