What we have here is extraordinary talent led by mediocre coaching. Nothing else can come close to explaining this hideous excuse for a season so far. Holy damnation.

I've been saying it was arrogance on the part of the coaches thinking that they didn't need to play him. Arrogance and stupidity are not a good combination.

I started this post NOT QUESTIONING BENS toughness. I hope that’s not what people think. I question WHY THE TWO MESSAGES?? Either he’s healthy or he isn’t? If he can play the last 4 minutes, then he can play ANY TIME after he came out of locker room.

I said we wouldn’t lose unless we turned it over. So yes, I was definitely wrong. But Ben pulling a Willis Reed after 26 minutes of second half is worth at least 3 turnovers.

Bingo. Spot on from where I sit. Ben was the proverbial "In case of emergency, break glass" move. Tomlin, ever the defensive genius, probably thought that his steel curtain defense (yes, he is delusional) could actually keep the crappiest team in the league from scoring so why risk putting Ben back in the game.

I will say that I think the injury is worse than it appears. We have no idea exactly what it is, but my guess it is worse than what they are saying. Remember, in Einsteins mind, the Patriots are on the horizon. Dobbs is his guy, the NASA rocket scientist and surely he could manage rest of the game given that his steel curtain defense would come to the rescue. Only they did not pick up the phone.

Tomlin must have something on the Rooney's. No way any coach can continue to under perform against the dregs of the league and still manage to keep his job. I just don't get it. I don't hate the guy but he is NOT a good HC. Way to many of these no show games and bad clock management in my book. I digress though as I am not the owner nor am I season ticket holder so I have no say in the matter.

Yes, I think that too. They figured they could just throw Ben in if needed and win.

There might be extraordinary talent on offense, it sure as hell isn't on defense .

Ben should've went up to the coach sooner and said he's ready to go back in the game.

The coaching decisions Mike Tomlin made the last three games that we lost warrant a firing. But this is not new with him he has been doing this for years.

No, it is obvious. You don't worry about committing penalties, you just play what is immediately in front of you. They went 1st and goal with 1:54 left. At that point it comes down to 4 plays and they either score a TD or you win. At that point, you have to plan for the worst case scenario, they score the TD, and allow yourself enough time to when you get the ball back. By doing what Tomlin did, they went all in and bet on their defense and didn't leave a back up plan. It was a blunder of historically epic proportions, and one that should not be made by ANY coach at ANY level, let alone a 12 year NFL veteran. He should be embarrassed by his decision making there.

Your actually right, the time off in the locker room was for x-rays and x-ray review and then for the shot to kick in. Even Tomlin mention after the game that he probably should of come in a couple of series earlier.

I'm generally all for blaming the players first and the coaches second, but not with a decision like this. IF Ben was declared healthy enough to play he should have been in. It shouldn't take Ben appealing to him for Tomlin to make that decision.

As a competitor Ben should be begging to get back in the game.

We just lost to the WORST team in football period. Heck they might be the worst team I’ve seen in years, but we can’t beat them. I don’t care about Rothlisberger‘s problems playing in Oakland that team is atrocious.

So what does that say about us if we can’t beat them. Not to mention Boswell missed two more field goals today. It’s time for him to go. I don’t care what he’s done in the past. He makes either one of those field goals we tie or win.

It is the worst loss of the Tomlin era. I don't think we've ever lost to a one win team. I may be wrong.

At a minimun, Boswell needs to return some of his new contract money. He sucks like a vacuum.

Like I said in the game thread, Ben did not look good throwing the ball on the sidelines. He was stretching his side while he threw a few short passes, then tried a longer throw that floated high and slow. After that throw, he put his hat back on and went over to the sideline again.

I was shocked he made it back in as bad as he looked on the sideline.

Also, Ben didn’t even come out of the locker room until after the first few series’ of the second half.

I too thought Ben should have been in sooner. But the reason he could have come out and not played is if Dobbs goes down...there is no QB dressed left on the sideline if Ben was out.

You forgot quality time spent drawing up TD celebrations. They obviously forgot to choreograph INT celebrations (cause they're so rare), and that's why they accidentally on purpose whiffed on 2-3 INT's today.
