Wow, the Stains sold for over a billion dollars :o So that led me to wondering where our beloved franchise falls on the list of value, can you believe we are only #13? Team Value $1.01 Billion.

Washington Redskins are #2 which leads me to ask, what the heck determines the value of the team? Obviously winning doesn't have much to do with it. Dallas is # 1 for all those wondering. Complete listing can been found here:

So - Haslam has officially bought a circus, huh? Go figure.

Wonder what he'll be thinking in November.

This should be very interesting. Keep in mind Haslam now has to sell his stakes in the Steelers. I wonder if the Rooney's will buy him out or if they will find another investor. I am not sure how a 1000% Steeler fan could buy another team. But I guess if you have a billion dollars to play with heck buy a NFL team and one that is a long ways from being respectable.

I wonder what the Browns fans think?

If he's a die hard Steeler fan like many of us here, he can still root for them, even when they play the Brownies. As a business man, all he has to do is make money, that's the main goal. He can do that and still be a Steeler fan.

Like I said before, Haslams aren't in the business of losing money as they have been very successful with the Pilot chain and recently acquired Flying J. So, I have to believe that Haslam is in it to make money and sees a way to make money on his investment.

That said though, if I had a BILLION DOLLARS, I think I could find somewhere else to invest my coin. That franchise is just a train-wreck. Heck, maybe Jimmy Haslam sees the opportunity in that. If they are worth $1B and they suck, if he can get them respectable and competitive, just think about how the value of his investment could grow.

Haslam is scheduled to address the Cleveland media tomorrow. There is speculation that he's going to do something dramatic to show that he is no longer a Steelers fan - something akin to stomping on/burning/soiling, etc. a Terrible Towel or something. Fine by me - let him experience the curse.

If memory serves, Khan just signed a new contract this off season. I hope we have him locked up for awhile.

If he does, he was never a Steeler fan and it was purely a business venture for him.

That's really all it was. Apparently, he has been a "fan" of a number of teams before he got part of the Steelers. It's a business to him, and he really never had any loyalty. Definitely NOT a citizen of Steeler Nation.

Actually, Mr. Lerner (well, technically, his son, since Sr. passed away), got quite a return out of his investment!
He paid 530 million for them, when he bought them. That`s almost 100% profit, by the time the deal is completed, and he is paid approx. one BILLION! :? :hmmm:
I still have no idea how the most dysfunctional team in the league, can be worth that much, but as they say, something is only as valuable as what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Then again, they also say a sucker is born every minute! ;)
I`m sure a lot of it has to do with the revenue sharing deal from t.v. money, but still... I wonder if he is aware, that even the diehard, devoted, Clowns fans, are FINALLY starting to show their discontent, by not buying season tickets, or regular tickets, for that matter?
Whatever, just something more to laugh at, and scratch my head about, from Clowntown! :hehehe:
    GO STEELERS!!! :yeehaw:

What??!! Haven't you heard? Single-game tickets went on sale yesterday, and the Clowns sold out 4 games!!!

How quickly did the Steelers season sell out? Just wonderin'...
