I’m not taking that as being a traitor or even that JH would/did do that. I think just the opposite.

JH is trying to get into some form of broadcasting. He has to set himself apart from being blah blah blah.

I appreciate his efforts when he was here and wish him good luck. But at the same time, I will take what he says with a grain of salt along with the likes of Mark Madden. Ok, 22 steps higher than Madden. He is an idiot.

I once spent an evening in the pub where a friend was detailing the idea that if they set up a burger outlet, but bought all of the burgers they made and ate them, then they would effectively create a self-perpetuating economy by paying themselves with own pay, and would never want for food.

Can't help feeling that Harrison's comments here are on a similar level.

Cardinals getting ready to score on us in Super Bowl, JH makes one of the most amazing plays in SB history and for that he gets a pass from me.

And other teams wouldn't see exactly what he was doing and think, " if he does it to the Steelers, why wouldn't he do it to us if he feels picked on?"

My friend who is also a Steelers fan said the same thing. Bell just wants to get out so it would make some sense from his point of view. I am resigned to the fact that Bell will most likely never suit up for the Steelers again.

I discussed the topic of Bell faking injuries back during training camp. I was told that the Steelers could file a grievance of some sort if they felt that Bell was actually healthy. However, if it came to that, I don't think the Steelers would press the issue. They are probably just as tired of Bell as the fans are.

Astute observation. The irony of it is how much James hated the media and talking heads when he was a player.
If I was going to call JH a traitor it would have been when he joined the Bengals, not the Pats or whatever he says post-career.

The article says JH is in Bells corner, no he's not. He's in the, Im sticking it to the Steelers corner because I'm a 40 year old baby.

He's got an ax to grind, thats all this is. Bell might just be stupid enough to take that advice who knows but he sure as **** wouldn't be helping his value. He'd be sending two messages:

    1) I can't stay healthy, which is already a legit concern if you are a GM

    2) This guy is all about himself and will screw a team at the drop of a hat.

Neither one of those is conducive to securing a big contract.

One thing that might work out in Bells favor is if he comes back after week 10 and Conner is fully entrenched as the starter, then Bell would just be relief work, which would of course be very little snaps.

I hope they find a trade partner for this ass clown before that though.

If Im the Steelers Bell never plays a down in black n gold ever again. When he signs week 10, I would make him inactive the rest of the season. I really hoping we just find someone who will trade for him.

If he does not sign week 9 then we know he will sign week 10 so he can get his yr credit. After Saturday of week 9 with no signature the Steelers should pull the offer, this leaves 1 week for Bell to find a new team to accrue his league yr. If teams are weary because of his potential, not playing hard and faking injury's so he can be sure to cash in maybe no one signs him. Starts to become a Kapernick thing no one wants that headache especially that late into the season. The Steelers then turn around and tag him again next year knowing that he will sit out again thus taking 2 of Bells best years off the market. Ultimate F&^K Y*$

What does Bell get by signing and reporting by the November 13 deadline?
    1. Another season accrued toward veteran status? He’s already an unrestricted FA (4+ accrued seasons).
    2. Some impact on pension or post-career benefits? (Not that he seems to care about that.)
    3. Free-agent eligibility at the end of 2018 if he isn’t on the roster?
    4. A big bump in tag salary? Definitely—sit out and he can tagged again for the same $14.4MM, otherwise it’s more like $21-$25MM. (Although it’s a different question whether any team would actually pick up the tag for that amount. )

I’m thinking teams are already doing this. But he only needs one team to think otherwise. And one will.

Earl Thomas in Seattle is saying the same thing, if he gets a headache he's not practicing. There is a way to go about things and there is not :lolol:

I loved JH92 but I just think he is saying this to make a splash. The way he worked to stay on the field, I don't buy he would do it. And that is bad advice for Bell's reputation.

If he takes $800k+ of their money and fraudulent fakes an injury, I do think they will press the issue.
