80th Anniversary Throwback Jersey

Hi everybody,
sorry if this was already asked, but I can't find anything on this.

When will the new throwback jerseys go on sale? I want one so badly. I really really like them. They have something special I can't explain.
They look different from all others, so that's a good thing for a jersey which will be only worn 2(?) times. The last one could have been the normal home jersey. No one would see much difference.

Whenever I see them on pictures I'm thinking the guy wearing this could hurt me. Reminds me of that quote:

I think it represents the Steelers history. Hit'em often and hit'em hard.

Would appreciate if someone knows when they will be available.

I don't think there is another 80th Jersey, so I guess yes. The "bumble bee"-Jersey!

 

Can't find them on the Steelers website. I just ckecked ebay...they have some!! I'm gonna order one.

 

Is it just me, or are the really looking strange on ebay? Have the feeling they are not officially licensed by the Steelers.

 

I know they are not a favorite around here, but I like the new throwback jersey.

 

To each their own... unique is good...
I kinda liked the last ones, with the gold helmets, but these just remind me of a prison gang, or "Leatherheads", Not the movie...Which ain`t all bad, ,, and is kinda the point of a "throwback", no?
If yer gonna go "old-school", do it full-on, right?
I can see why lots of people hate them. They are ugly. But, they are what we wore back then. The unvarnished truth is hard to take, sometimes.

 

Obviously the ones on ebay are not by the Steelers...they are remakes/etc. I would assume if they're going to sell them (which it would be dumb not to, no matter how bad some think they are, as people will by them no matter what)...they should have them available by (if not before) training camp...so they can sell them at camp/etc.

 

I'm not sure they are planning on saling them because I don't think anyone would wear them. Maybe you could call and ask them to make you one. Or maybe you could get James Harrison's. Seems like he actually publicly stated how much he hated them.

 

I am not at all a fan of the bee jerseys, mostly because in 1933, the team was known as the Pirates. I like the current throwbacks. But if they needed a change, I don't know why they didn't go with these:

I just wish they would go back to the 70s jerseys and let that be it for all of eternity. If they're good enough for Jack Lambert and Mel Blount then dad jim it they are good enough for old blountforcetrauma!

To me these are the worst jersey's they ever had.... The golden triangle looks like a golden blob when they were actually worn by the players. Stupid.

 

They really only have three options for "home" throwbacks. The 1933 unis, 1950s jerseys (which they have used), and these 60s "triangle" uniforms. I'm just saying, this 60s versions are the better option. That said, I'd just stick with 50s throwbacks, which were pretty cool. Or don't do the throwbacks AT ALL.
