Just as the title implies, who were your personal winners and losers from the combine?

I will give you my biggest winner and loser to start out.

    Winner:

Justin Reid: Thought he would test in the middle of the road aspect. Now that we have all seen him perform exceptionally at the NFL Combine, coupled with his tape, he is a shoe in for a late First Round option for us.

Personal Runner Up (No guys, you do not need this):

Leighton Vander Esch: Oddly enough, given his background, he tested just about as well as I thought. When he sheds 10lbs., look out.

    Loser:

Ronnie Harrison: Only two drills? I found that quite unusual. Even worse was that those two drills only gave further indication of what many of us already knew; his explosive capabilities. He has to perform very well at his Pro Day as Justin Reid is now a lock for a late First Round slot. Unless his hamstring was that bad, how he did the explosive tests is unbeknownst to me.

    Personal Runner Up:

RaShaan Evans: Another 'Bama player? Well.. sadly so. I was so looking forward to seeing him in action. I care very little about opting out of the 40 time and his position drills were outstanding. What then could be the issue? The fact that he is not as explosive as I had hoped and Leighton Vander Esch is a far more intriguing form of clay to mold with a greater degree of upside and athletic capabilities.

To clarify, these are my two plus others that just missed. Again though, who are yours?

I'm gonna cut Harrison and Evans a little slack. The Alabama pro day is tomorrow. As a fan I would have liked to have seen them at the combine but it' a quicker turn around I don't mind them waiting.

Neither is an athlete like Troy Brown or Averett who are naturally athletic and fast on any day of the week.

    Winners

    Shaquem Griffin

I really think he would have been drafted regardless. Probably more of a 5th round guy. This combine performance combined with good tape should put him in the 2nd round or at worse the 3rd.

    Saquon Barkley

He was always going to go Top 3 but I think he legitimately put himself on top at #1. Get ready to face him twice a year.

    2nd round safeties

There' a cluster of players I had ranked as 2nd and 3rd round safeties and they all worked out great and ran good times. I don't think any of them will jump up into round 1 but lime last year you may just see a big run on safeties throughout Round 2.

    Losers

    Josh Jackson

After running a great 1st 40 at 4.48 everything went south. He ran a much slower 2nd 40 and looked completely lost in drills. I'l have to go back and look at the tape. He looked like he had never moved back wards before. His hands are a vacuum though. Terrific ball skils. Might be a FS convert which might actually work out for us.

    Orlando Brown

I had him in Round 2. Atrocious athlete. His wingspan can make up for being a poor athlete but not an atrocious one. I think he will have some problems in the NFL.

Spot on assessment of Jackson and could definitely work out for us playing the deep middle. Great ball skills just need to keep him reading and reacting downhill....

DJ Chark deserves honorable mention....any chance he is there for us in the 2nd? Another 2nd round stud for us like JUJU and Bryant's replacement....

Evans or LVE in the 1st
    Chark in th 2nd
J.Jackson in the third maybe a bit early but we have no 4th.....

I can live with that draft,we can also address safety and ILB/OLB 5-7 and FA. Safety class is deep with a lot of real good athletes(new DB coach should help development) . A word not often used as a positive around here....I think Evans or LVE can probably start day 1 but we need a veteran presence at Safety(FA)

    Shoot! :lolol:

Forgot about both Lorenzo Carter and Josh Sweat. Both of those guys tested out of their minds; Sweat's numbers being insane given the fact the poor guy has been plagued with leg injuries since High School.

One more as well. Fred Warner. If for some chance that Esch is not the guy but Justin Reid is for Round One, he really put himself on the map; continuing his ascension. As I see it, he is eithet a top 75 to top 50 player.

Terrell is likely but even then, nabbing him will be difficult. He is early to mid Round Two for me.
