...on with another team. According to the article, had a rough day in a recent tryout with the Giants.

I feel sorry for the guy. Seems like a nice guy but just doesn't have what it takes to make the transition to the NFL. I don't know if it's mental, lack of hand-eye coordination or what, but I think it's time he moves on with his life and finds something else to do. Seems like an intelligent young man and I'm sure he'll find his life's calling after football.

I was one of the people that was really cheering for the guy. I saw a lot of potential and ability. I will now eat those words with some hot sauce!

Gilbride said he "looked rusty and in need of sharpening."

No **** - the guy's been on IR and all sorts, and not played since 2009. It would probably be more useful to know if his issues were technical, mental or simply from being out of shape.

My guess would be that they were technical, mental and being out of shape. :)

Sad story really. The guy seems to have the physical traits to possibly be a stud NFL receiver but after reading that article it's hard to believe anyone would have much interest in him at this point. I certainly have zero interest left in him.

Sweed's a head case. Something's not right on the inside. Too bad we didn't clue in or have him psycho-analyzed before draft day.

As long as people keep giving him opportunities, never quit. And I seem to recall he was having a good camp with us until he got hurt last time. I'm sure he's rusty. Also, I'm sure alot of his troubles are mental, the kid did have a nervous breakdown after all.

It's a shame he couldn't catch the football. He routinely created terrific seperation.

It's too bad, it's like the golfer from this past weekend, Kevin Na I think his name is, he just couldn't bring himself to swing and the gallery started to heckle him. The drops got into Sweed's head and that was coupled with injuries. It cost him a promising career. Good luck to him as he gets on with his life's work.

i wonder if he could possibly make the switch to the secondary............ with his hands (or lack thereof), he seems to fit the stereotype of corners being failed wrs......
