Hilton haden and burns are a solid trio. The safeties turn them into dog crap. Put a pair of legit safeties and what do you know we look elite there. Still all moot if we can't stop the run.

The Safeties suck. As does everything up the middle of this Defense. Can't blame the CBs for that.

Not sure I'd include Burns in that trio. He regressed significantly in year 2. Year 3 will be pivotal for him. Will he go the way of Ike Taylor or Cortez Allen?

Hmmm the secondary sucks...and they retained Carnell Lake.

    I feel Davis has promise.

As far as Mitchell why isn't he gone yet? And Gay as well.

Haden, Burns, Hilton, Sutton, Allen. Won't have to address the corners, maybe add one late.

I feel with a new free safety this unit should hopefully get better, hopefully, but...

I just don't feel that Lake can coach this group to the next level.

burns regressed, but I feel he was never really great to begin with. He is solid in man but that's it. If haden had burns body he would be a shutdown corner lol. One has the physical traits, the other has the head.

It appears to me that Burns has the talent, but looks like he dosen't give his all in pass coverage and seems like he needs a good wake up call. On plays where he has to tackle he looks like he dosen't want to make contact. What scares me is I'm not sure you can fix that if he dosen't want to.

Burns had quite the Sophomore Slump; ditto for Davis. Sutton, Allen and Hilton all seem like keepers to me; something we honestly have not seen in some time.

Within that same vein, I am more worried about Davis than Burns. Burns has shown the capabilities to be a very good starting corner when he is commited and focused. His issue lies within that focus and commitment. He has to improve that on his own.

Davis is another story. Personally, I do not think he was a long term solution for the Strong Safety position. Oddly enough, one of the aspects of his game that did improve was his range from year one to two. That being said, he needs to be moved over to Free Safety.

Watch how much better the cb play will be with a competent FS. Leaps and bounds.
