Anyone else notice that in the wake of the Vilma suspension, ESPN only posted and republished tweets by James Harrison and Lamar Woodley? Both of therm expressed anger and shock in the suspension. They did the same thing with Ryan Clark after the whole bounty story broke.

Why does ESPN believe Steelers players are the only ones whose opinions on Bountygate matter? Is it a subtle suggestion of guilt by association (or defense)? I am actually kind of ticked off, here. It's as though ESPN is saying, "Wow, Vilma gets suspended for doing something dirty, let's go to the experts on dirty play, the Steelers, for their opinions."

Because in the past Harrison and Clark were the ones getting punished by Roger.

Well I love Harrison but I think he's got a brain the size of a pea. With a target the size of the empire state building already on his back I don't know why in the hell James thought he needed to tweet anything at all on this subject. In today's world people are being denied jobs and fired from jobs because of the things they say or post on twitter and facebook. To me he's starting to act like a guy who won't be satisfied until they finally can his ass for criticizing the profession that's made him a very wealthy man.

Maybe. But I pay a little more attention to the media than most. It's my business. So I see everything as a big deal when in comes to how the media spins, shifts, distorts, and pushes its own agenda.

In this case, Harrison didn't say anything terribly out of line. And Harrison's not the only player ever fined in this league. If you ask me, Cortland Finnegan has been a bigger disgrace on the field than James. As my previous post stated, I am always intrigued (and deeply troubled) by what the (sports) media wants to push on sports fans. James Harrison? bad guy. Barry Bonds? bad guy. Lance Armstrong? Good guy. Tom Brady? Good guy. (And there's plenty of dirt on the latter two to write a book.)

This isn't my first or last post regarding the media, that's for sure. But I'll try not to make it sound so whiny.

One more point on this: NFL Network did not broadcast these Tweets. Draw your own conclusions.

Here's another perspective from someone who views and reads media like the average Joe and doesn't rely on the media for a business: This didn't even register on my give-a-crap scale. The players received their punishment, don't like it, and will likely appeal if they can, and other defensive players not involved don't like it either. Either way, no biggie for me. If you break the rules or walk the line, you know what the risks are. So when the piper calls, you pay him. We all make choices in this life.

When this story broke I was listening to ESPN, The Micheal Kay Show, they read several tweets from angry players but none from the Steelers. I'm sure they will all make the rounds eventually.

How is the meida spinning, shifting, distorting and pushing its own agenda? They are simply reporting what some players said in social media. Sorry, I just don't see the big deal.
