The Final 53 (as of now)

Someone please help me understand the keeping of Mccullers? Big Dan has not showed
me any up grade in his play since he became a Steeler. We need help in other areas.

 

Other than they secret plans to convert him to Safety, I can't think of much.

He showed little in camp (so said reports), and had one good quarter in the final game of preseason.

The only other thing I could think is that it's a positional thing, in that he's more of a straight NT who can plug in for Hargraves, than any of the guys we dropped.

 

i don't know about that yet dob. the dude is still making plays and even went to ST's without a peep. gay still has some worth to us this year.

 

Allua sp, I agree and have stated in other threads that Big Dan needs to be motivated, but our needs are much greater in other areas. And on Special teams.

 

I just dont get this love affair with a 3 rd string blocking tight end that Nix can do what he can do. Just my 2 cent worth.

 

Looks like we still need to cut someone?

I think Golden gets the ticket to ride.
McCullers is returning kickoffs and have a feeling Feiler will be needed

 

Hubbard or Feiler would be my guess. If they were to cut from any of the other position groups it would leave us pretty thin.

 

What does the two week roster excemption cover?

I'm guessing (hoping) big Dan will be gone to make room for Bell and Wilcox. The other move would be Sutton to IR.

 

The only way McCullers is cut now is if they sign another NT. The Steelers always carry 6 defensive linemen. Sutton has already been sent to the ir.

 

We can technically keep 54 on the roster for 2 weeks or until Bell is activated.....that's what I got from it. Which will be before the first game so it's kinda a lame rule....

 

I missed the Sutton, Johnson, Dangerfield moves today....Working night shift has me step behind, more than I already was.

 

The total miss of block that sent matthews into mendy for the game turning fumble? that DJ..

 

My guess for who gets cut is McCullers or Steven Johnson, maybe Golden I heard he's not a ST captain this season he could be gone once Wilcox gets comfortable.

 

Wanted danger field over him... What was his injury specifically saw he was injured waived

 

I think he injured his ankle in the Panthers game.

 

Alright then, sad to see him go. At this point all we got was what was left in the cupboard... Was hoping he took the bone from Golden

 

Signing Johnson today and cutting him so soon would be messed up. Was just listening to a podcast and they mentioned Moats as a possible target as well. Interesting side note they brought up that Golden wasn't named special teams captain. Seem to think once Wilcox is up to speed golden is gone and dangerfield returns.

 

I think he did take the bone.....but then injured one of his own . There is a chance he comes back if he heals up....he is actually still PS eligible....I have a feeling with the way things have been going we will see a ever changing roster and some of the guys lost will be in play during the course of the season...

 

Wouldn't make sense to cut Moats after his salary becomes fully guaranteed week 1.
