I've stated before I was thinking of one more splurge before I go back being Scrooge...

It took my youngest son being invited to Clemson vs Alabama with his friends family to make me think well what are my other son and I going to do but go to Pittsburgh for our 3rd game!

Except winter storm coming! Just spent am hour with weather models (lmao) and coming from Atlanta...even though going 75-40-81-77-19-79-376 is usually the fastest way... it's going to have slight precipitation/snow showers Friday. But taking longer route by 30 min 75-71-70-79-376 is 0 precipitation. So it's a no Brainerd I'm going to go that way through Lexington,Columbus etc. Just want to know if anyone has taken that route and what are your thoughts. Going thru a blizzard last Xmas in WV was not fun and want to take easiest way.

Sorry I took over Steelers post and made it a travel one...

We love in the Dayton area and when we go to games we sometimes pickup the 71 up to the 70. Either way, we end up taking the 70 through Columbus and so on as you describe. We usually drive through early Sunday morning before the game but it's a fairly easy drive and pretty as well once you get to Eastern Ohio. Depending on what time you hit Columbus on Friday you may be battling traffic.

I think with all these games, you should say screw it and move to Pittsburgh.

I live 90 minutes from Heinz field to my house and this will be my 3rd game this year as well!!

Your a much more dedicated fan than myself traveling so far, so I give you huge props!!!!

I'd go the route where there is less chance of snow. People in the south do not know how to drive in the snow.

Heck people in Pittsburgh don't even know how.

I live in Northwest, PA. We get tons of lake effect snow, sometimes over a foot isn't always uncommon. We are a lot better at driving in the snow, because we are used to it. Plus we have tons of Penndot Snow plows and the such to take care of it.

You get south of interstate 80, and people seem to forget how to drive in the snow, and states have a lot less infrastructure to take care of the roads.

Yep, your first route brings you directly through my neck of the woods and you're correct, plenty of snow in the forecast up this way. Never been the other way but my son has. We attended a game a few years ago when he lived in Lexington and my sense is he didn't think it was a bad drive at all. Travel safely!

I love Pittsburgh! I would move in a second if my boys weren't settled here...for now. Who knows where they will go to college.

You should see how it is here in Atlanta! Happens every year. Just the mention of snow and the stores fill up and everything gets cancelled before one flake falls!. Of course we don't have the equipment like up north. I was caught up in the ice storm a couple years ago. I was stuck at a friend's house for 2 days!

Almost bought a pair of tickets to this game as well. Getting the baby making stuff done on Friday, so I didn't think it's cool to go to a game on Sunday.

Never been to a play-off game.

Give em hell and make sure to quiet down when the Offense is at work!

Is this a typo, or are you sharing way too much info for a sports message board? :hmm:

With how much time and money you a splurging on your children to go to games this season you might not want to disappoint them by not attending the Superbowl this season when the Steelers are representing the AFC Conference. They will probably be expecting it now.

I don't know if you've left yet, Natalie, but roads are in good shape here in northern West Virginia today.

Do we have an emoticon for that.... never mind, that would probably be inappropriate.
