New Nike jerseys

So I'm sure everyone has heard by now that Nike is taking over the NFL jerseys next season. I've read that the Steelers won't allow them to change the base jersey which honestly I wouldn't want them to...

I did hear that they're going to let them do an alternate jersey though that was a throwback... The only jersey that I'm aware of that's really a throwback is this one...





You guys excited? Don't want it? Honestly I think leave the base alone but I think they should let Nike just do whatever they want on the alternate. THey've done a really sweet job on some of the ones they've done for some of the more traditional colleges...

 

There's been lots of rumors but I heard somewhere there wasn't going to be much of a change at all, perhaps as insignificant as just adding the nike swoosh. Our new throwbacks have already been announced.

 

those 'soccer' jerseys they wore in '94 were atrocious. i remember living in arizona and they came into town to play the cardinals on a sunday night tnt game and i was SO disappointed to see my favorite team, that i hardly ever had the opportunity to see play live, walk out in the tunnel dressed in those things.

Like I said I'd rather they just let Nike have at it for the alternate ones, than going with the throwbacks.

Yeah I remember this, those sucked. I'd love to see a simple, almost all black jersey with just small gold details... Maybe with grey numbers.

 

I was going to say the same thing...I've never heard it officially announced...its been RUMORED it was that design...but I think even Rooney himself said they were going to have a new throwback but never said which one.

 

Well, I thought it was official. Checking now to see how accurate my "sources" are!

 

Upon further review, the 1967 jersey featured in an earlier post of mine has been speculated on a number of sites as the new throwback but nothing official from the team yet. My bad. That's one thing I love about this board though... if you say something, right or wrong, you better be prepared to back it up if someone calls you on it!

i agree. i'm down with almost anything as long as it's predominantly black.

let's let the maryland terp's football helmet be our caveat for taking too much liberty with uniform design.

 

the official pittsburgh steeler's twitter announced that there would be new throwbacks this year and about 2 weeks later randomly tweeted an image of the attrocious '94 throwbacks.

 

don't be hating on the terp's helmet. to outsiders it looks grotesque, but to we students who take pride in the maryland flag they are AWESOME.

 

I like the idea of those '94 jersey's, I just think the execution of them back in 94 wasn't that great. It looks like they were cheaply done. I think Nike could pull off a new version of those that would look decent.

That golden triangle on the shoulder are thing from the 60's is stupid. Nike can't save those it was just stupid idea to begin with...

 

I like the throwbacks they've been wearing the last few tears with the gold helmets. Sometimes change isn't for the best. Maybe they should just change those jerseys to white for a classy all white look for two games at home. It would look good with those helmets.

 

I like the rumored new throwbacks. Those soccer jersey's are hideous!

 

We'll see the new look, if any, in April when the Nike jersey designs are released.
