The Steelers now clinch the AFC North with a win next week now over the Ravens. The Ravens will be eliminated from the playoffs all together if Miami beats Buffalo on Saturday and the Steelers beat the Ravens. The Dolphins would have 10 wins and the best the Ravens could do would be 9-7 so they would be done. Also, one last thing by KC losing to Tennessee today it keeps the Steelers chances for the 2 seed alive as they are now 1 game behind the Chiefs who they have the tiebraker on head to head. They still need Oakland to lose 2 more games but the possibility albeit not a great one is still there. The bottom though next week win against the Ravens and you clinch the North it's as simple as that.

I figured the Chiefs losing today was beneficial to us. I was hoping the fins would lose last night too.

I want Miami to win now next week because if they do and the Steelers win it knocks out the Ravens from having a chance to be a wildcard team. I'd much rather play somebody like Miami, Denver, or even Tennessee in a wildcard game here as opposed to playing the Ravens 2 times in 3 weeks. Get them out of the picture all together.

I was thinking the same thing, but I would like them around to take out the Patriots in Foxborough.

Rooting for Oakland to lose in SD today. If that happens and both the Chiefs and Raiders both lose just 1 of their final 2 games and the Steelers win out the Steelers would be the number 2 seed and get the bye week. The Steelers win tiebrakers over both the Chiefs and Raiders if they both finish 11-5 with the Steelers.

Sadly a loss next week to ravens could easily eliminate us from any playoff chance

Well that can't happen because the Steelers would play them as the 3 seed assuming they don't get the bye week and it would mean the Ravens as the 6 beat us in the playoffs then play the Pats the following week. So your scenario works if you want the Steelers to be eliminated by Balt in the playoffs.

What does it look like if we lose next week to the Ravens.

There are scenarios where we still get in if the Rats somehow manage to steal Christmas next week. The Rats losing in Cincy or the Bills beating Miami are a couple.

They would need the Ravens to lose in Cincy the last week and beat the Browns to win the division. I can't see the steelers losing this game on Christmas Day at home with so much at stake.

The wildcard possibilities are still not done yet either. Let's hope we win clinch the division and it's a moot point.

As I said b4...it would be bleak....

...if ravens win we will be tied but they own tie breaker...

...it would take same scenario as last year with us needing a win and ravens needing a loss to the Bengals for us to get in.

    Wildcard would be remote

If SD hangs on to beat Oakland our chances of still getting a possible bye week will really get interesting these last two weeks. We would need to win out against Balt and Browns and have KC and Oak each lose just 1 of their last two games. KC has games left at home against Denver, and at SD, Oak finishes with games against the Colts at home and at Denver. So it's definitely possible. If all 3 finish at 11-5 Steelers win the tiebraker and are the 2 seed.

Tough to believe that a loss to ravens pretty much eliminates us but a win could puts us in 2 seed.....Miami loss killed...last 47 seconds vs Dallas another killer

It will be a moot point at about 730-8 o clock on Christmas night the late loss to Dallas and the loss in Miami.

We can lose to rats and still win the division. A.J Green will be back next week so I like the rats chances of losing in cinci week 17 and us beating the Browns at home.

As I stated earlier too if Miami beats Buffalo on Saturday the Steelers will eliminate the Ravens altogether from the playoffs by beating them on Christmas. Man would that be sweet.

We can't change the outcome of those two games but we can take care of business next Sunday and beat the Ravens. We are still in control to win the division.

Yea but you don't want it to come down to that do you?? You seriously want to have to rely on the Bengals who are an absolute trainwreck to still have a chance to win the division the last week of the season?? I think we all know the answer to that question.
