That is a sweet rig. But I'm thinking BS on it. Not the fact that snipers are there -- there is absolutely no doubt that they are there and watching. My only issue I have with the pictures is that I don't believe that a sniper would be allowing pictures of his position and rifle to be taken and then plastered on the internet. If it is true, then this dude better be in deep doodoo. One other point is that you can bet that there is another sniper with his weapon trained on this sniper.

Well, if this is a safety against a crazed sniper, then wouldn't the crazed sniper simply have to take out the sniper focused on him first before running amok?

 

The key is that nobody should know there is a sniper and especially they should not know where a sniper is - that is why I called BS on these pictures to begin with. Any police sniper should know he is being watched too and he should not know where he is being watched from. It's another layer of security used to protect the general public, dignitaries, and so forth. The chance of actually needing the second sniper is slim to none and so is the the need for a sniper in general. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
