The Colts are still the Colts. I knew that when I saw Berry, idiots in Baltimore would be upset. They like to still claim the Colt's success as their success. By that logic, Oakland can only call themselves 2 time champs, as if 1983 never happened. Where do the 1958, 1959, and 1970 trophies reside? I'm pretty sure they are next to the 2006 trophy in Indianapolis.

baltimore fans are in a tough spot. they no longer have an allegiance towards the colts' organization (because it now resides in indy) but they refuse to give away any of the titles earned by that franchise during their time in baltimore.

do you blame 'em? if the steelers moved to los angeles and the LA Steelers started trotting out bradshaw, swann, mean joe, lambert, franco, etc, to their hometown crowd at the LA memorial coliseum, we'd probably all go berserk.

Living in Bmore that is exactly how they feel and they are right to feel that way.

Actually many people in Bmore feel that the NFL stat keepers should make Baltimore a separate team and history. They feel it is B.S. that Manning and Co. have erased all of Unitas' and Co. team records....

Well they have to give up those titles, because the titles belong to the team that won them, not the city they were won in. And if the Steelers moved to Los Angeles then all the superbowls won and records set here would go with the team to los angeles. Peyton manning broke COLTS team records, not baltimore football records. Unitas was a colt, and the records went to indy. I know it still stings baltimore football fans how it all went down, and i dont blame them for their anger toward Irsay, but the colt records are now in indy because its still the colt name and colors. Only if a team changes its name and identity do the records stay in a city, and if the city gets another team they can only claim the records if they continue to use the same name, like the browns. The texans cant claim the oilers records.

True, at least officially anyway. I've never fully understood it though. The records belong just as much to the city of Baltimore as they do to the Colts franchise. Yes, Unitas was a Colt, but he played for Baltimore, not Indy.

I get that's how it is, but I don't fully agree with it. I kind of think the records should belong to the city, not the franchise. If you choose to leave a city, you should also have to change your team name.

I really don't blame Baltimore fans for being bitter, I would be furious if LA claimed all of our titles and our history. The Steelers history belongs to Pittsburgh and always will as far as I'm concerned. If the Steelers moved to LA and kept the name and colours, I would still not cheer for them as it's not the same team!

So would they still be the Steelers if they moved to LA? Maybe they would change their name to the LA skinny-vanilla-latte-sipping-metrosexuals
