    I know........

TAKING AWAY THE PHYSICAL FROM FOOTBALL!

    WUSSIFICATION!

I'm on the fence....what does that do for the outside zone that teams like to run against Pittsburgh? How does that affect the play of the big NT going forward?

Does that change the drafting in regards to OL size and strength versus quickness?

Interesting stuff there, I don't think it kills the running game like some are saying, because you see these cop blocks in the passing game as well. I think it brings the physical back to the line and makes it more of a "You better bring it because I'm going to smash you if you don't, little guy"

Personally, I'm all for it. You're engaged with another player and someone dives at your knees is just a bs pansy ass cheap shot

I agree it's a good thing. Clipping used to be frequently called back a couple decades ago and now it's rarely called at all cause teams needed to adjust their dirty playing style.

Chop blocks should not be legal. Of all the dumb **** the league has done wrt safety, this one needs to be removed.

He isn't retired. He just hasn't finished the buffet that he went to back in 2013.

The Ravens will need an all-new offensive line. Their entire run game is all about cheap shot chop blocks.

    Good riddance to it.

Took long enough. I've never been a fan of that tactic. I also don't like stiff arms to the face-mask but I doubt they ban those any time soon.

Once they ban the chop blocks, the Ravens are going to be in a world of trouble. LOL.

The league has ignored it for so long. They always prioritize protecting the high profile positions (QB, WR), but ignore something that seriously injures guys in the trenches. Off topic, but one of the only youtube videos I've ever had removed was one where Ziggy Hood was illegally chop blocked against the Raiders without penalty. It was DMCA'd almost immediately. I always thought that was odd.
I was thinking the same thing when I read this.

The ONLY time I think a chop-block is ethically acceptable, is when you are a tiny running back, held in the pocket to pass protect,(or run a delayed draw/pass/screen-type play) and you have to stop a much bigger defender from getting to your qb!!!

That DB is runnin at your qb... NOT already engaged in a block!!!!
ANY Block at the knees, other than that should be illeagle!!!

I don`t care if you "lined up more than one player away, on the line", as the rule is currently enforced, or not!!!:bscow:

Shots at the knees are always a cheap shot, leagle or not!!!

AND SHAME ON THE O-LINE COACHES THAT PROMOTE IT!!!

Including ours... we all saw how DeCastro felt after taking out Pouncey, using the "zone blocking scheme" some coaches love.

I get that it is a legal, and effective tactic...

Other teams do it against us as well...

It`s time to make that ILLegal!!!:read::rules::goodellsucks:

They`ve made it plenty hard on D-backs, to stop the O from scoring, or even catching the ball...

    Can`t touch a QB...

Time to protect the D`s knees... COMPLETELY!!!:thumbs up:

It`s DEFINITELY not making the game more lame, it`s just evening the field, a little bit!!!

I`m not gonna ask for the "stiff-arm facemask", to be a penalty...

    (But it SHOULD be!!!):D...

Just make any dive at a player`s knees a penalty, if he doesn`t have the football....

(Sorry Dri Archer-types,,, you`ll just have to find another way to block, LOL)

    GO STEELERS!!!:yeehaw:
