I don't hate Tom Brady as much as I used to. When I was driving home from work tonight, I realized it wasn't going ruin my whole off season if the patsies win Sunday. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for New York. But the last 4 times NE's been in the superbowl, I've rooted for their opponent like they were the Steelers. And when Plax caught that touchdown in SB 42, it damn near felt like the Steelers just won the superbowl. Should I see a doctor?

Turn in your Steelers Fan Card. Apparently we can only say negative things about Brady.

    ;)

I'm DEFINITELY the black sheep of this board. I think Tom Brady is awesome. I used to HATE him and thought that he was the product of a good defense. But in reality I think he has ice water in his veins. Also, my reasons are personal. People around here worship Peyton Manning and say they are "colts fans" just because he played at UT. They hate Brady because he has took Peyton's lunch money over and over. So I guess I am just a contrarian and maybe that's why I like him but man how can you watch the guy and just based on unbiased intelligence say that he is anything but great? I hate ALL THINGS MANNING just because I can't stand bandwagon fans. So shoot me or kick me off the board or call me lame or whatever.

just because you saw him bounce up from a couple hard hits this season...
Don`t forget that he is Marcia Brady, and he will get flags called on the defense, for breathing on him too heavy!
AND... if they can`t cheat, they can`t win!!!
(only half this post is sarcastic... you figure out which half...)
Go (cough, cough, hack, cough, almost puke, hack, cough... ) Giants!!! ;)

I also think Brady is an awesome QB. Not sure how people could think any different. He's always very cool and collected and makes throws. Other than Moss, he's had no talent at WR for almost his entire career, yet look at the numbers he puts up. With that said, I don't want to see him win most years. This year is the exception. Although I like the Giants and don't like the Pats, I bet on the Pats to win the SB at the beginning of the season, so if they win I get $800. I like money more than I like the Giants.

Just for the record the Pats were caught for filming in game one of the 07 season. The tapes were apprehended at halftime. Then they went on that historic run. That means that they didn't tape anyone that year and proved that they could go 18-0. I'm not defending what they did but in fairness they did that season "fair and square" as we say here in TN.

Cowher also admitted to stealing signs. It's part of the gamesmanship of sports. Signs get stolen in sports all the time. No excuses, we lost.

I'm sure they knew our signals. Also, based on what Bill Cowher said we probably knew their signals too. I would never pick the pats over us. I'm just saying I don't think that Tom Brady sucks at the qb position. Ben is still my number one man and my son is still named after him. Breathe everyone. Breathe.

    O.K. ... I "breathed"....
So, if "you ain`t cheatin, you aint tryin"...
    Kinda like Nascar?
    Sorry...
    I still ain`t buyin it...
Just because lots of people accuse us of bringing steroids into the game....
Even if we did... It wasn`t illegal, then!!!!
Ain`t buying that we did... but, still... wasn`t illegal...
Videotaping another team`s signals, WAS illegal, when the Cheatriots did it...
THEN... Goodell, destroyed the tapes, before anyone could determine just how bad the violation was...
Gee... Doesn`t seem like a "cover up" to me...
Anyone else want to weigh in?
Even tho, it`s in the past, and we will "get over it'...
Stilll smells like (Where`s that "cow, taking a poop", smiley?)
Oh yeah, I just did a "quick reply"... so that`s not available...
Maybe I should just deliver a flaming bag of... Oh,. nevermind... I`m a good boy now,
And don`t mind when I am screwed over...

The whole "Steelers brought steroids into the NFL" is a bogus claim anyway. The Chargers have that honor.

Yeah I agree that Goodell is a reject loser that should never have been named commisioner and yeah I think he is a Steelers hater from the word go. All I'm saying was the fine was just for that week one game against the Jets. I think the misconception is that they had like a library where they went and watched teams like crazy. It was just for that one game and remember I'M NOT JUSTIFYING IT. I'M JUST STATING A FACT THAT IT WAS ONLY IN ONE GAME AND THEY NEVER SAW WHAT WAS ON THAT TAPE. I DO believe they INTENDED to watch it. But they didn't. So in reality they just ATTEMPTED to cheat. Now is ATTEMPTING to cheat the same as ACTUALLY CHEATING?

BTW Rod Woodson agrees with the position I take on it. What they did was really not that big of a deal and I think they would have probably had a good year without all that stuff. Still they shouldn't have done it because it will always hang over their heads and tarnish what is really a great accomplishment.

For the record, the issue wasn't the videotaping. It actually was the headsets and what Zimmerman believed was an entire system of espionage.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/w ... index.html

Now, before you claim this is just a jaded writer, take into account that Paul Zimmerman was perhaps the best NFL journalist ever. Until his stroke a couple of years ago, nobody knew the sport better than Dr. Z.

Also didn't it have something to do with the locations of the cameras. Apparently you were ALLOWED to tape. Just NOT in the location from which they were taping. Isn't that also part of it?

That was an awesome article. Thanks for posting that. I noticed them talking about the Raiders trying to make the field slick. I've seen an NFL films thing where Al Davis complained when they played us in like 78 maybe that we froze the field on purpose to slow them down. Now after reading that I wonder if maybe it was just his own guilty conscience or maybe we were just trying to beat him at his own game. I had never thought that until I read that article just now. If we did do it for spite I think it's quite hilarious!

Could careless about the entire taping debacle. With that stated I hate the PATSIES,

    and RATBIRDS.

I'm a simple man. I have enough hate for them, I don't need to feed it w/ ridiculousness.

I think I actually cried (from joy and relief) when Plax caught the TD! :lolol:

I agree with everything you have said. I am so relieved its not the Ravens, that I really wont be that upset if Brady wins....having said that- GO GIANTS!

I admit, that I have forgotten most of the details regarding "Spygate", but I`m pretty sure it was more than just one game.
I believe it had to do with one of their assistants, going to other team`s practices (definitely OURS, and I think, others), undercover, and recording what was going on.
Sounds pretty far-fetched, now that I type it out, but I do believe that was the gist of it...
Not to mention a lot of accusations about faulty headsets, and audio equipment in thier stadium, for the visiting teams.
Maybe someone else on here, has a better recall, than I, of the details?
And, yes, I will, begrudgingly admit, that Brady is probably more talented than I would like to admit...
But, I STILL HATE THE ------- PATRIOTS!

Didn't the patsies lose a #1 draft pick as punishment?

They did get fined some draft picks but then Bill Belichick turned around and traded some big players for future draft picks to offset what they had lost. Also the fine was for taping in that game. I think all of the spying stuff was never proven beyond all doubt. But the filming in the Jets game definitely was. I just think it's funny that Mangini decided to pull the plug AFTER he worked for them. It would appear to me that if he was a knight in shining armor he would have said something WHILE he worked there. I can't stand Mangini just so you know.
