If you were given a choice and you
    A) Were 100% Guaranteed 4, 50 yard line tix to go to SB LI in Houston next season with $5000 spending cash with full hotel, rental car and airfare included but your favorite team (Steelers) would have to not make the playoffs no matter what, would you go?

    B) Guarantee the Steelers go to the Superbowl and be eliminated from any viewership or knowledge of what is happening during the game.

    Which would you choose?

Sorry for the trying to get thru the off season thread.

For me....I would rather my team (Steelers) win. I can watch on TV and celebrate when and where I want. I would love to go to the Super Bowl, it would be a great experience, but I want the Steelers win.

    B. My team winning the game would be worth more to me than some sweet tickets to a game I don't care about and 5000 dollars cash plus free amenities. That's just me tho.

    The Steelers for sure.
It would be hell not being able to watch- but I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself there if the Steelers weren't in it.
Also, if the Steelers are in it, that means the Cheatriots aren't!!

    On question before I pick.

Is Steven Jackson playing in this game?

Steeler SB for sure, besides I'm sure I could find the game on the net somewhere. Even if it was someone using their cell phone to record it.;)

Yeah that's where I'm at now. Ask me again in 15 years when my kids are old enough to go to the game and it's in a different city (Houston? eh...) and I'd go for the personal experience at the expense of the Steelers win.

I'd get over the high from another Steelers Super Bowl win in a few years, if not less. I'd take the memories of an all-expenses-paid trip to San Diego for 3 days with my family to the grave.

    I would take the tix.

Steelers not making the playoffs isn't a real big deal is it any more?

I mean under Tomlin the Steelers only have a 33% chance of winning a playoff game anyways right?

I'm making the hypothetical rules so there is no way that you could be informed at all during the game time. Not even the coin flip. You could be surrounded by 100% media coverage right up to the commerical leading up to but not including the coin flip and then they have to lock you in a room with no outside contact what so ever. Not even able to hear people cheering. Right after they let you out you could then view it but the guards would have to tell you the outcome whether it's good or bad.

How many people choosing option B would go nuts?

    No medically induced comas either.

:rolleyes:Well since you put it THAT way I'd still rather have the Steelers in it. Besides my wife would probably have something planned for us that day anyway!:lolol:

    A. I'd be able to sell the tickets for probably $30,000, keep the $5,000 on top of that, and have a hell of a head start on my twins' college tuition. And anyone who wouldn't choose that is lying through their teeth!

The only one this could possibly apply to would be Matt Damon who has just landed on Mars and he doesn't know which way to face his Direct TV satellite dish (among many other obvious things he doesn't know about).

I was assuming you couldn't sell the tickets, but this was a great answer.

I honestly have zero desire to go to the Super Bowl. Having been to the last three AFC championship games in Pittsburgh, there is no better environment than that weekend in the city. Heading over to station square Sunday morning to pregame at Houlihans, then heading to the stadium and hanging out over there. You can't get that experience in Miami, Phoenix, San Fran, etc...
