3rd in sacks. 14th in sacks allowed without our top 2 linemen, 7th in points allowed given our bad secondary. Ben is averaging 28.6 in the games he played given he didnt play all of the stl game and he was rusty in the cin game. Games he fully played when healthy averaged 34.5 points a game :)

Countless injuries and now we are getting hot. who knows 77777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777

oh and we are #1 in yards per carry, and #1 in yards per play and #2 in total yards per game. League ppg is Zona with 31.8, I would like to think we would be tops if Ben was healthy year round. Thanks Munch

A lot of that credit goes to Haley and Ben as well and the weapons at WR.... Haley has taught Ben to be more mentally focused.Ben is a lot better at reading a Defense, he does a lot better job at getting into the right plays...I remember the old Ben getting blasted almost every time we went empty, now he gets those hot routes correct and gets the ball out ...

The ability of our WR'S also helps this OL big time ....Teams can't afford to blitz because they need all the help they can get to guard our WR'S ... This opens up nice lanes to run and it helps protect Ben....

well teams will be silly to blitz, as Ben is the best against it... BY FAR. I said it once and I will say it again, the teams that can effectively rush 3/4 and drop 7/8 kill Ben. Then again most teams can't.

Anyone have an explanation why we are so effective on those two pt conversions vs say regular red zone plays from the same spot on the field? Not sure how to quickly gauge this statistical anomaly but my thought is a slight psychological letdown occurs by the D knowing the worse that can happen is 2 pts vs 6 from a TD. In any case I think it's an added bonus eventually in close games with little time remaining when it puts us up by 4 instead of say 2 or 3 where a FG can beat or tie us. I wish I could say the same about our successful conversions on fake FGs.

Unfortunately... The next two teams are teams that rush four and drop 7 back... So let's hope they don't kill Ben or we are in big trouble.

I think with our receivers, QB and past success, we would average well over 50% on 2 point conversions over the long term, so we should go for it almost every time IMO. Late in a game, if one point is all you need to win then go for 1.

If the td puts you up 2 late, take the EP so a fg doesn't beat you

Just a little bit of cold water: Ben averaging over one interception per game. He's only done that once in his career, after crashing his motorcycle head first into a Buick.

Ben is on pace for 141 more passes this year than he did that year (if he had played all 16 games). I think that his INT's rising is mostly due to his pass attempts increasing.

At least two of them (and that's just from the Seahawks game) weren't his fault - and I'd venture to say that there are more. So that stat is really very misleading.

That's true for all QBs. Some of the completions are due to his receivers, too, and many of the YAC get credited to the QBs pass totals, which is crazy.

That stat by itself is misleading. While hiis current interception % is slightly higher than his career average, it's well below 2006. Further, he has performed better nearly across the board in other categories.

    Year . Comp% . TD% . Int% . Yd/Att . Yd/Comp . Yd/Game . Sack% . Rate
    2006 . 59.7% . 3.8% . 4.9% . 7.5 . . 12.5 . . . 234.2 . . . 8.9% . . 75.4%
    2015 . 65.9% . 4.9% . 3.0% . 8.9 . . 13.5 . . . 338.4 . . . 3.8% . . 98.1%
    Career . 63.9% . 5.1% . 2.7% . 7.9 . . 12.4 . . . 250.1 . . . 7.6% . . 94.1%

He's also leading NFL QB's in points per drive, at 2.66. That first game back vs the Bengals really skews his INT numbers. But it does seem like he throws one or two each game. Would like to see a few 0's in there.

Yeah, when you're throwing the number of times he is, you'll get INTs. As long as you get significantly more TDs as well, I can live with that.

Well if is an INT in their side of the field too, it's not so bad... unless of course you are driving to score at least a fg and you get a TO instead

Thing is, he's absolutely right. The article was based on who has the best likelihood of making the playoffs. They probably have the toughest schedule to get to postseason. No one wants to see this team in the playoffs, because they're borderline unstoppable when they play to their ability

    Let's look at our opponents:

Wins vs teams currently with a winning record: 1 = Arizona
Losses vs teams currently with a winning record: 4 = New England, KC, Cincy, Seattle, all are arguably strong chances to be playoff teams.

Past performance is no indication of future, but I wouldn't put us into any ELITE categories quite yet. Note: Our last playoff win was 1/23/2011...... until they win one, consider us pretenders.

This. I'd also be interested to see how many points-off-turnovers for INTs specifically. I know of several that turned into nothing, so that helps.
