Games to keep an eye on today that concern the Steelers. The Jets who are 5-4 at Houston who is 4-5 wouldn't mind seeing the Jets take another loss today to put them at 5-5. The Chiefs who are 4-5 at San Diego. The Steelers really need the Chiefs to lose because a win today and they are back to 5-5 and would be just one full game back of the Steelers and remember they own the head to head tiebraker over the Steelers. So a loss by them today and putting them at 4-6 would help a lot. Other games that would help the Steelers would be Oakland losing to Detroit and the Dolphins losing to the Cowboys. Both would fall to 4-6 with losses as opposed to both going to 5-5 with wins. Lastly, the Bills play at New England tomorrow night and a loss puts them at 5-5 as they play in KC next week. So a lot of games today have a pretty good impact on the Steelers wildcard chances improving let's hope that most of them if not all of them go in the Steelers favor.

It'll all be moot when we run the table and win the division!

Yeah this is what I will be doing watching the teams that we are fighting with for the wildcard. Not a whole lot of good games, I will also be checking in on my fantasy teams. I will be watching a lot of the Jet game and my youngest son is an Eagle fan.....yeah he was dropped on his head at an early age!!!

I think 2 of the 3 late games are going to be fun to watch and I will be one hell of a SD fan today, lol! I will also be watching the Seafags just because we have then next and it will be fun to talk strong/weak points they have.

Steelers just need to win out. Can't control the destiny of teams shooting for the same goal. Steelers need first to take care of business inside Century Link, silent the 12th man and home with a W.

Yes you are right and if we win out there is a very good chance we could win the division never mind the wildcard, however I think this thread was about who to watch while the Steelers are on bye week.

Fair enough, but fans can still route for competitors to lose.

Having said that, I'll accept a Bills win and Patriots loss.

Plus, there's tough competition for the number one draft pick. I don't want the rats to get it, so SD can keep losing for all I care.

So far so good today at the half the Jets,Miami, and Oakland are all losing. I want Houston to win today as well and get to 5-5 and the Colts to lose in Atlanta and put them at 4-6 so that Indy is two games behind us having to come in here and play us in 2 weeks.

Should we be concerned about the Colts and Texans

Looks like the Colts game is going to be bigger than we thought with the possible wild card on the line
Steelers are the only team on their schedule with a winning record left

Everybody loses today so far at 1 o clock that the Steelers needed too. Raiders and Miami lose to drop to 4-6. The Jets lose to fall to 5-5. The only thing that's a bit of a concern but not really a huge concern is Houston wins and so do the Colts and they both go to 5-5 which adds two more teams in the mix whichever one doesn't win that pathetic AFC South. Hopefully KC loses at SD today and the Bills lose tomorrow to New England. The only thing that sucks is that the Ravens came back and beat the Rams even though they are out of the playoff race for the most part. I like the Steelers to go to Baltimore and win in late December.

Yep Chiefs up 19-3 on the Chargers who are absolutely pathetic mid way through the 4th. Huge game next week at Arrowhead as the Bills play the Chiefs at 1 before the Steelers play in Seattle at 4:25. If the Bills lose tomorrow in New England both teams will be 5-5 going into that game meaning 1 team will be 6-5 at the end of that game. A win in Seattle next week would be enormous for the Steelers wildcard chances with a banged up Indy team coming up at home the following week.

KC has a very easy schedule coming home....I say they're a lock for 9-7 at worst...

hell Denver might slip to the wildcard and we play them at home so we own that tiebreak when we beat them up

Denver is 8-2 and in pretty good shape right now to win the West. I doubt even without Manning they fall apart bad enough to not at least win that division. The main two teams to watch in this wildcard race are the Chiefs and the Bills. I think those two teams have the best chance to overtake the Steelers based on tiebrakers and and their conference record. I think teams like the Jets,Raiders,Dolphins, and Texans who are either 5-5 or 4-6 right now have no chance to overtake the Steelers for a wildcard spot.

Anything is possible, Chiefs and Texans have some confidence right now. Bills can get it if they beat the Pats.

Yup. Said that a week ago. That may be the game that cost the Steelers a WC.

More like 10-6, if not 11-5.
