I've heard reports going both ways that yes Timmons does make the call and no he doesn't.

As Tomlin likes to teach us " Next man up"

Shazier is not going to make it if he can't stay healthy.. It's extremely unfortunate because the kid has alot of talent.. I am going to hold off on calling him a bust until the end of the year.. If he makes it back on the field this year which we expect he will and then again has to ride the pine because of injury then we really have to start to wonder about his ability to stay healthy

Nerve injuries are hard to avoid and often very nagging and hard to recover from. You can't condition better to avoid them. And rehab only helps keep the muscles strong. It doesn't speed the healing process. Only time can do that and everyone heals differently. Those same injuries to the shoulder area are especially limiting.

Shazier has an overabundance of raw talent. He has shown that when healthy, he can be a force to be reckoned with. In terms of ability, he can only get better.

This is a freak injury and not his fault... AT ALL. The fact that he's in enough pain/weakness to hinder his ability to play is also not. his. fault.

I know it's frustrating as a fan. I'm frustrated by it too. But we have to keep it in perspective. This injury has little to do with him not training enough, or being "soft." LOL, most people calling him soft would be sobbing for their mother if they had the same injury. Bitching to anyone who would listen how they can't even hold a gallon of milk.

To quote Aaron Rodgers last year when Packers fans were panicking: "Relax." He'll heal soon enough. And we know we have a play maker in him once he does.

It's football. Injuries happen. Often for no reason than freak accident. If he gets fat, or slow, or constantly pulling muscles due to lack of conditioning, sure, criticize him. Until then, I'm not calling him soft, or injury prone. It's just an unfortunate sequence of events.

They can show up drunk and I'm powerless to reprimand them. The gnome union really has way too much power.

With the demanding hours they work all week, the things they do to stay awake has them very strung out by the weekend.

Timmons can call plays, but it seems like he's not the best at calling it and then getting himself in position to make plays.

I'm pretty sure they ran a 4-3, and Timmons was the strongside. Woodley played both LB (first two years) and DE (third) for Michigan; when the Steelers drafted him a buddy of mine - Wolverines fan - said they played a mix of 4-3/3-4, and that Woodley had been a beast coming off the edge for them.

Same here. I was wary of Timmons (FSU), especially when they moved him inside. He's not tiny, but if a reported 'fast, over-persuer who has trouble at times shedding blocks' couldn't cut it on the outside, I had my concerns over whether he could fare any better moving in. But he's proven a reliable workhorse in the middle of the field.

If he is in jeopardy of getting injured again and having another setback then give him the time. Sure I would like to see him on the field. But the Defense is holding their own. Hopefully he is back for the KC game. Props go the coaching staff and front office for believing in Sean Spence.

That's the crazy thing here! How good is Spence after being written off for 2 seasons with a horrific normally career ending injury?

Does this make you think what if he never got injured? This team could look much different.

If Spence doesn't have that devastating injury I believe we don't draft Shazier...
