I got surprised with an early Christmas present and my wife has planned a trip for the family to see the Steelers play the Colts in December. I live in California and this will be my first trip ever to Pittsburgh to see the game. She got us Club seats and I'm totally stoked.

Do any of you have any advice on where to stay at near the Stadium? Looking to keep it between 200-300 a night.

    I appreciate any feedback

    Thanks

    Welcome to the board, Doug.

I'm going to move this thread to the Steelers forum. We've had similar threads there in the past (things to do, where to go, etc). And more people will see your question there.

Went to my first game several years ago as a birthday present from my wife. Also in December. We got lucky and it was right around 50 degrees that sunday. We stayed at the Wyndham and walked across the river to the game Sunday morning. Great experience. Plus they had a shuttle that would take you anywhere in the city and pick you up when you called them. Hope you have a blast. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Hyatt north shore, which is about 2 blocks from Heinz field. Nice accommodations, and not a bad price. Better check soon, though, not that big and probably will fill fast.

I figured I would add a little. The nice thing about the club seats is that you can get out of the weather and warm up a bit, should it be a little cooler than expected. I will definitely try to sit there, should I have the opportunity to get to a game again. Have a blast, I did.

If you can walk it without needing assistance, there are quite a few close hotels within reasonable distance. A unique experience is staying I'm station square (Hilton) and taking the Clipper over to the game. Unfortunately I think the Hilton is overpriced for what you get, but it is close and convenient.

Your wife needs to teach my wife what Xmas is all about. I mostly just get bills from all the shopping.

You will probably find better hotel rates between the Airport and Greentree exits right off the Parkway. The hotels usually have shuttle services to take you places.

    It's not a Sheraton anymore?

Either way it's a good location... Lot's of restaurants and bars in Station Square. And as pjgruden said, the clipper docks right next to the hotel and it's a really cool way to go to the game.

You know, you may be right. I think it is a Sheraton. I've stayed there probably 3-4 times, you'd think I would have remembered :lolol:

    I stay at Wyndham downtown
    Easy walk to stadium
Then easy on to interstate after the game headed home
