    Our Defense is clueless.

Tomlin has gutted this team and polluted its character with thugs like Vick. Steelers are going nowhere fast.

If you think we'd be any better tonight with DL, you haven't been paying attention.

Wow, we finally scored a TD! Now watch the defense go back to sleep.

Go back and watch the tape of Steelers vs Patriots in 2013, LeBeau was clueless also they gave up franchise records of 55 points and over 6oo yds of offense.

I think we would. Well, maybe not as DC, but as a DB. Couldn't hurt anyway.

I don't miss LeBeau. This score would have been even more lopsided. We need the Ravens defense coordinator, they seem to be able to beat the Pats when they need to.

Right! DL has given up way more than 28 points a game vs the cheating pats

Exactly. The D looked EXACTLY like it has for the past three years (or more). The only difference was the defensive coordinator was about 30 years younger. That's it.

We don't have the talent to make it happen. I don't know exactly where to lay that blame but it looks like we have poor players that are even more poorly coached. I will ask the question this way. IF Butler and not Lebeau had been the dc of the 08 defense would they have been just as good? I say no. I say you have to have the talent and when you combine that with a phenomenal coach you are headed for success in this league. I'm not saying Butler is bad but I am CERTAINLY not ready to say he is as good as Lebeau at this point.

I think we need to remember that Tom Brady is arguably the best QB to ever play the game (that's right I said it... now I need a shower). If I remember correctly, he shredded a pretty good Seattle team in the 4th quarter of the Superbowl as well. I would agree that last night's Defensive performance was "below the line", however; my hope is that the Defense will grow together as the season goes on. It is a long season as they say. The communication errors in the Defensive backfield were troubling for sure... but, maybe they can get those issues worked out as the season goes on and possibly gel... at least, that is my hope.

I am not ready to write off the season... yet. :hmm:

    As always... GO Steelers!

it will be a tough year for the Defense ,there are a lot of new faces and some great players are now gone ,there are new defensive schemes in place this will take a lot of getting used to,I don't like change, but everything changes and all I can do is hope for the best and sit back and watch

Boykin had zero plays on defense. Thomas had some snaps, don't know the number but I think it was minimal.

edit: ST29 had 5 snaps, .....5 My grandma's dog had 3. Whole lotta evaluating going on there.
