The future of football looks unstable to me. Could go either way really with popularity.
I think the no hard hits rule and the protection of the fragile Qb's KILLED many people's excitement for the game. Really how many times have we caught ourselves on youtube watching hard hit videos? Mark Cuban also said which I really agree on is that NFL is over exposing the sport. Too much of a great thing kills it's value. Look what happened to the UFC. They added more frequent fights, more weight classes, more shows and now barely anyone watches it. Baseball, hockey, and basketball have 80+ games a year each and each game is not nearly as watched as any NFL game because each game is just another game to us. I am really against adding more season games. Yes it brings the Nfl more revenue and allows us to watch more games but in the long run I think it will hurt the sport. Sunday, Monday and Thursday is more than plenty. I would love to watch the steelers 52 weeks a year but the limit amount of games only adds more value to each game.
    What say you?

I don't think so, not for those reasons. I hate the changes but I'm more obsessed with football then ever.

If something kills football, it will be less people playing it while young, parents keep kids out of football because of concussions, adult athletes themselves more attune to the effects of the game on long term health, could have a domino effect, less talent coming out of the draft. Doubtful though.

Only a tiny percentage of fans hate the changes to the game. The NFL is bigger than ever. It's not on shaky ground at all, it's an unstoppable juggernaut.

There's definitely some truth to this, but at the same time, we have to remember that a lot of kids playing football and basketball are from homes where perhaps the parental guidance isn't what it could be. A lot of these parents get their sights on pro sports once their kids show even the smallest amount of athleticism. For the kids who play as a way out of the ghetto, the risk of concussions won't even be a factor. There will be some parents that keep their kids out of the sport, but they will be few and far between I think

Who made a techy nerd like Mark Cuban an expert for NFL football? They had 45 million viewers watching the draft this year, so it doesn't look like fan interest is dwindling at all , ask Cuban how many watched the NBA draft, he needs to worry about the NBA and not so much about the NFL....
