As much as i like him, Mike Tomlin. Not going to guess why he rode Bell like a rented mule and kept LB unused but it cost the team. Pats are going to run him down the rats throats and I'm not buying there was not a better way to keep the problems inhouse and fix it. Tomlin is the one with the authority to fix it and he didn't and we lost a good running back with little back up.

The players were thankful for his release as well... I hated to see it happen, but when teammates are okie doke with it, it's hard to argue. Where Tomlin dropped the ball, was not having a backup plan the following week... Or every other week all the way to the playoffs.

First of all, its on Colbert to bring somebody else in here, secondly, Blounts a cancer, he's been a cancer everywhere he's been. He was with Bell for like a month and Bell ends up in trouble. I know Bell is responsible for himself but having a bad influence around doesn't help. Bells the future, Blounts a punk. Totally did the right thing kicking his butt to the curb.

The only argument to be made here was not replacing him.

I respect them for doing it. the fact that he is in a pats uniform says enough about the kind of organization they are to me.

Tomlin had no choice and I support his decision. If a player quits especially during the game he must be shown the door quickly. ZERO Tolerance.

My issue with Tomlin is his Love for vets and refusal to play rookies or inexperienced players stunting their development. Dri is no answer. Harris has potential but he needs snaps to improve.

    Aye.

On not bringing a replacement in immediately: I love hoe some of you seem to think that Tomlin was just sitting there thinking - "shall I sign a replacement? Nah, I'll keep playing Angry Birds. Bell will obviously never get hurt ever. Obviously."

The decision was made that the PS guy was better than any other options in FA, balanced against the need to release a player to make room for any FA. Should they have given the back ups more game reps? Well, maybe. I seem to remember a lot of the end of this season being must-win games, though...

Tomlin isn't the one who quit on his teammates.

LGB is an idiot and the team did the right thing. We could argue that they should have had more depth at the RB position though.

Blount is doing nothing against the Ravens line tonight. He probably would have gotten the same result last week.

The problem is they chickened out once Bell actually got hurt.
Tate should have been the back-up to Harris, instead of starting the game (in my limited-information opinion).

Like at LBer, WR, TE, OL? Next man up is all talk, luckily someone has seen this and they are starting to fix it.

You are 100% correct. But I would have gladly had him last week over Tate.

I actually blame him more for keeping a gadget player like Archer occupying a RB slot. That's why we were completely unprepared when Bell went down. Our RB is required to run between the tackles, pick up the blitz, and catch the ball. Every single RB on the team should be able to perform all those tasks. If you want to keep a guy like Archer around, put him at #6 WR or KR/PR where he can't do any harm.

I'm also confused as to why we didn't try Will Johnson as Bells replacement when the **** hit the fan.

Blounts attitude and bad influence on bell should've gotten him tossed off the team.... But he should've been happy for his so called friend. I like the rbs that we have behind bell now...we have to find out how to use them.

They were completely useless vs the Ravens. They couldn't perform the required duties. What is there to like?

The failure was to adequately replace him the minute he was cut. Not waiting a couple of weeks and relying on Josh Harris and Tate.

Dri archer needs to be used like the falcons and chargers used Eric Metcalf, at wr.

Yes and no. At the time, I thought they should have traded him to a running back needy team for at least a 7th round pick. In hindsight, could have traded him to another team for one of their running backs and got that guy in the system and ready to go. But never saw the Bell injury coming.

Exactly right. You brought him in because the other guys were not adequate, so when you let him go you needed a replacement.

Yeah we could've used that 1 yard he got on 3 carries vs the rats, damn you Tomlin for letting him go :frustrated:
