I hope the NFL heavily fines Chiefs #99 for intentional leg whipping of Ben

That could have been the end of the playoff hunt for us and altered the playoffs outcome for the AFC if that fat pig did real injury.

Is what he did illegal though? Tripping is, but is attempted tripping illegal? I don't think there was any intent to injure

Yes, it is illegal. Even if not flagged, a fine will be forthcoming if the league feels it was intentional.

    IMO, looked intentional to me.

I don't know if he meant to "injure" him but he DEFINITELY meant to trip him. Even IF he had been flagged it wouldn't have mattered because we scored on the play anyway. Unless we could have enforced a penalty on the kickoff.

I don't think the rule states 'intent to injure', just 'intent to trip'. Tripping is illegal, and as an extension, leg whipping to trip is illegal. Happened last season to that Patriots DE last season. He was injured, however.

So the question is whether a fine will happen. Now that I think of it, probably not unless they announce Ben has an injury from that play.

Well I think we both know that Ben's will always deny an injury even if his dang eyes were hanging out of his head. LOL.

Brings up an interesting question. Not trying to hijack the thread, but does the NFL (or anyone) post anywhere the fines that are levied in a given week. Inquiring minds want to know! :hmmm:

That's weak sauce dude even in football that looks bad, it is like an intentional ball hit caught on camera at teh very least ranks up there with what Suggs did after the play to Blountman.

James Harrison to be fined making the Defensive Line position look so easy. Gooddell will call him to the office and ask if he were actually on fire whether James would entinguish him by any means possible. JH asks if he needs a light. Fine doubles.

...or leg whip or kick. However the league wants to view it, it'll likely end up costing Walker, because it looked pretty intentional.

I agree and now that moron is saying it was "inadvertent". There is no way that guy even knows the word "inadvertent". That is obviously PR control trying to minimize the damage. I think the Lions have became pretty classless in the last few years. Suh is an idiot too. It just seems they have a culture for this kind of crap or something. I thought it was a Schwarz thing but apparently it's not because he's long gone. I can't believe Jim Caldwell would allow this crap to go on though.

Tripping is illegal because it's unfair and it's a dangerous thing to do and people get hurt when you do it. Doesn't matter the intent.

What's funny to me is, I could see the Raoila one being more accidental than the Vickerson (?) one. Vickerson had to intentionally whip his leg out into Bens path; Raoila possibly may have been off balance and put his foot down too soon. I never saw a replay with his entire body, just saw the close up of the foot landing on the leg so I don't really know for sure.

They fined Brown for his kung-fu kick. Expect these to be fined as well,

James Harrison will be fined for making Gay taunt Timmons after a tackle.....

I believe FED EX will be showing up at this man's house about Wednesday, and he won't be delivering gifts of joy. Maybe 20K down the drain.
OUCH! Leg whips were banned along time ago.
    Pay the piper.

I was thinking the exact same thing after watching the play over again. Definitely tried tripping him! Did anybody else notice the ref "warn" Houston after he sacked Big Ben? I don't believe he should have been flagged for taunting at all, but Gay didn't even get a "warning." It is what it is, just a very interesting concept to me. At least it happened today and not in the playoffs.

Looks to me like he stuck his foot out to trip him, any way to get him down/off balance. Not sure it was a leg whip or really anything worthy for a fine.
