Let's take a look at the Defense. They say a good offense is a good defense and I do not see that happening with our defense. We don't know how to defend against the pass and what I mean is the receiver is usually 5-10 yds. ahead of our defense, resulting is a catch and possible TD. Troy is just running around, he is involved more on the line than playing safety. We cause very little turnovers, seams like we are just satisfied just to glad to get the player on the ground much less trying to knock the ball loose. To me it all starts their, yes the offense has to do there job but if the defense doesn't do there job then it puts to much pressure on the offense.

tis true, it takes a complete team. every one of the 6 super bowls we have won, we have had a strong defense that could dictate most games.

right now the difference between the offense and the defense is enourmous .. for some strange combination we are drafting quite well on the offense (or we develop players better), while on defense we are terrible (or not able to develope players ) maybe is lebeau scheme maybe the scouts probably tomlin has another idea of type of players .anyway the defense is regressing and the new ones on a way or another they are not performing

I would also like to add that we have alot of injuries on the defensive side of the ball and zero on offense

Not only does the defense not get off the field, they never produce turnovers. You cant win without forcing turnovers, especially when Big Pick is winging it into double coverage.

And even when the offense is successful and time of possession is in their favor, it is only do to the long scoring drives. The number of possessions is minimal because the defense is so bad and cant get force a punt or TO. So when Ben screws up, there are limited chances to make up for it. Then every mistake is magnified. It is a comedy of errors.

Although, the first quarter of the New Orleans game was the first time the defense forced punts consecutively in god knows how long. It actually felt like real football for a while.

Not to mention all the rules are severely skewed towards the offense. Offense is up all over the league just look at the points that are being put up. You have Fitzpatrick throwing 6 TDs and guys like Colt Mckoy throwing for over 400 yds and others on the reg.

true, it sure makes bens 6 TD games seem mediocre, but excites us because we are not used to it. is it ben is that much better or has the leagued made it that much easier for the same guy to look better? trouble is , it's still not happening with our offense on a consistent basis, even with the help. a qb like ben should be setting records every week. why do we struggle so much with all this talent? why can a fitz look like ben on any given week? why can't ben take us above and beyond more so than he does?

It's because his greatest asset is also his biggest weakness. He is inconsistent because he gambles on every play. How many times have we seen him take sacks on first down and in FG range and many other bonehead situations. I think his situational football knowledge is lacking or he is just too stubborn to throw the ball away. Too many of our successesful drives have been squandered by his reluctance to live for another down. Blessing and a curse and no end in sight,so we as fans have to live and die with BEN being ben and ben being BEN.
