I thought worthy this gets its own thread. He thanked Joey Porter for getting into a pregame fight giving him his first break and took one final shot shot a Roger Goodell to the cheers of his former teammates in attendance.

    Thanks for the memories JH!!!!!!

I'm glad to know he retired in Black and Gold. It wouldn't seem right any other way.

ME TOO! But there was a story about it on ESPN in which they interviewed Scott Brown and they continued to show Harrison in a Bungles uni the whole flippin' time! I'm still ticked about it!

James thanks for your support and memories over the yrs. Wish you could have spent one more season with the team before retiring but wasn't to be. Wishing you the best in your future endeavors with real estate and spending quality time with family!

I'm sure he wanted to play another year or 2. But if it was time to retire, I'm glad he did it as a Steeler. Best of luck in your life's work, James.

I follow James on social Media and while he's been training hard in hopes of a return he has also been posting a lot of the fun times he and his kids are having all summer long. No doubt big bad James has a soft heart for his kids. When he went to Arizona he posted a picture of his kids going to school and said to the effect that he missed another 1st day of school. I think that was it for him, time to come home.

I think he may have played if the Steelers asked him because at least he's still home during the week.

I'm really happy to see this. Here is to you, James! You are a legend that extended the tradition of great players for the Steelers. You enshrine all that we hard-core fans have loved about the Steelers through the years. You were a throw-back player that could have played with any generation. You gave us one of the most memorable Super Bowl plays ever. I am glad I got to see you play!

Doesn't make up for all of the times Goodell screwed James, but it sure was nice to see Harrison get the last word.
