Didn't Mathis get something like 4-6 games, for taking a fertility drug to increase the size of his family (good intentions)........ but 2 games for KO'ing your wife?????? Huh......

 

Until the league can become unbias unfair tendency ref. disciplinary actions will continue to be unjust throughout .No standards maybe CT would advise.

 

It's pretty simple stuff right? These punishments should not be arbitrary. Just make them consistent for every player for the particular infraction.

Agree.. this has always been my spin on the issue, not sure how much of the mechanics ass wipe orchestrates but he most definitely should see the "lopsivity" in the resolve. No need to reinvent the wheel just make it fair!!!

 

As has been implied so far, the problem is that Goodell hands out punishments based on whatever he's feeling at the moment, along with his personal biases.

I think Ben got 6 games because there were two accusations against him, also when comparing drug suspensions when a player gets suspended that means he failed I think at least three tests. For PEDs those are in the CBA that's why they get four game suspensions.

I'm curious how much the Ravens or the NFL paid that casino not to release the video of Rice punching his wife. I'm surprised those scumbags TMZ didn't get their hands on it and release it.

 

The thing is now by trying to minimize the story the league and the Ravens are having a huge public relations nightmare and with that idiot Steven A smith getting suspended from ESPN over comments he made while talking about it adds fuel to the fire. So the story the NFL was trying to bury is going to have a larger impact than ever.

yes 2 games of course is a joke.. steven A is always a joke... but why is it another reason to hate the ravens.. sure we all hate the ravens but why do we have to hate them more because roger F-ed up on the punishment.. to me goodell screwed up the whole thing.. had he issued a 4-6 game suspension everyone would have said ray got what he deserved.. he would have sat out 6 games and no one would have been talking about it today .. but roger gives him only 2 games and all hell breaks loose ... so personally rice would have been better off getting 6 games and having it over.. hes not the player he used to be so it certainly doesnt hurt the ravens as it would have 4 or 5 years ago... what funny is steven A and rice got about the same suspension.....i thought rice did a good job at the press conf.. all i could think of was had pete rose given the same press conf 30 years ago he'd be in the HOF right now.. he did the best thing... admitted fault and asked forgiveness.. ...
