We are still in it as far as I am concerned but if we lose the division because of today its really unfortunate because we suck worse then the Ravens, Bengals and Browns

Never EVER thought I would have to say that lol

I don't understand how anybody can say we're still in it. Every team in our division is winning every week, and we're losing every week.

Mathematically, yeah, we're still in it. But come on... is there anything about this football team that says winner? We're working on our second season of no offense, no defensive pressure or TO's, no discipline from either side of the ball, and you can count on 1 hand the number of players on this team that are playing with fire in their eyes. Someone needs to shoot this horse and start over. Someone should look into cloning Chuck Noll...

3 or 4 games back right now?

    With 12 to go.
Got to win 10 I'm guessing.

Normally I'd agree with the point you're making, but the problem was the problems that existed week 1 have continued and our record reflects that. No reason to think we'll "unleash hell" based on our track record...

Just having fun, he could very well be right, he's been predicting we'd suck before the season started.

Correct me if I am wrong. I can't see us winning the superbowl Right now, but the Steelers are only one game out of the division race and two games back with plenty of football ahead. My take is this, giving history no matter how bad a team look they always play their division hard and if you win the division (just like the Seachicken did) you go to playoff. When the playoff start everyone is 0-0

Bengals (The law will knock on their door shortly its been too quiet there.)
Raven (Not the same Joe Flocko doing too many TV ads and not given Ray Rice the ball)
Cleveland (QB gone, Don't know how to win so self destruction is on the way)

The Ravens have had luck tipped towards them this season. I know, I know, winners make their own luck... but I think their record flatters them.

The Bengals... well, I hate to say it, but they've turned a corner. They look like the real deal. That said, when they had the opportunity to snuff out NE last night, they gave away some rash penalties (though one - blow to the QBs head - wouldn't have been called on every QB... just sayin'), and it was really the rain which stopped NE in the end.

The Browns are playing like a cohesive unit, which is more than can be said for us, but the ceiling on that unit's talent isn't overly high.

None of this means that we're better than any of those teams, or going to the play-offs or whatever. Just that the rest of the division is not on an entirely different plane of existence to us.

The Steelers need to focus on being a respectable football team again, nothing else, go out and try to win this week against the Jets.

Well the rain and the fact that Brady's "receivers" couldn't catch the dang flu! I was watching that game and wondering how the Pats could've put these horrible wide outs on that team. They run wrong routes. They drop balls that hit them in the hands or between the numbers. I don't see how Bill is not having an emotional meltdown. LOL. I would REALLY like to know if they miss Welker. I know that Brady does because he expressed his anger when he was released and I think it's pretty obvious why.

Especially with the teams left on our schedule. Every team in our division won on Sunday. We are done this year guys. I am just hoping that we come out against the Jets and there is a noticable change in our team. And, if by some chance the team does a total 180 and I am wrong, believe me I will be the first to admit it.

Exactly. To even have a chance we have to win 9 of the next 12.

I really don't see any way we beat the the Lions, Packers, Patriots, Bengals or Ravens.

The Dolphins, Raiders, and Browns probably give us problems too.

The Jets and Bills are the only games on our schedule that I feel at all good about, but I could still very easily see us losing to either one.

At it's best this defense is an above average defense held back by the fact that it can't make a big play. Not a new problem.

The offense is everything that's been wrong with it for the last four or five years that not only hasn't been fixed it's gotten worse.

If the oline suddenly clicks and the defense suddenly makes big plays we could conceivably get back in it. But given the fact that these aren't new problems I see us drafting in the top ten this year and possibly the top five.

If you aren't going to make the playoffs - and we aren't - might as well draft as high as possible.

I just said the same thing to my boss...the Jets and the Bills are the only games at this point that I feel any sort of confidence in.

...And the Jets defensive line is still no joke, elite even. You'd think our D should be able to rattle their young QB, but who knows.

So we're having a tough year, big deal. Just don't understand why some of you need to continually beat them down. It'll get better, just deal with it.

they need this one. that's all. they need to beat the jets. I don't care if it's ugly, a last second 60 yd. FG that bounces off the crossbar as it goes through. they need this win to gain some confidence going into a tough division game. 1 at a time.

we have some things that have us going in a better direction. heath getting healthier. bell running the ball and getting into the EZ. AB seizing the # 1 wr spot. DJ actually playing better. some moves finally on the O-line. heyward starting to grasp a leadership role on the D-line. << ( I think he's starting to anyway. I see a difference in him and what he's saying and how he's playing). cortez getting back to play maker status. worilds playing better.

all these things are positives we didn't have to start the season.

it could be worse. think if you were rooney mara.

I just don't quite understand how the Steelers lost the division yesterday. I could see a case for having lost it week 4 or earlier, but seems strange to start a thread stating that on the bye week.

TTF we are so bad we managed to lose during the by week. Honestly, I'm not sure why this is being tossed around. If we hit 6 losses I think our chances aren't so good but, at this moment in time, we are still in it. The season is a funny thing and what a team does during that season is always anyone's guess. I'm not giving up yet and even when we are mathematically out of it I will still be cheering them on each week. I love to see us win it all but I am even more excited when I watch an individual game and see our boys put their heart out there and leave everything on the field. I guess my problem is that I live in the moment and can't bring myself to give up the whole season. I think when things are going like this you have to ask yourself is it all about records or about week-in and week-out?
