If the Steelers were healthy no AB, Bell, or DeAngelo in this game, they probably win the Super Bowl that season.

If I were stacking a team, I would prioritize size and power on the interior of the DL with Edges who get paid to provide the heat. But that said in any philosophy of team building it is important to be able to see special talents when they are on the board. And if you can't do that, then you need to focus your attention on your scouting and evaluation people.

And this stuff is hard to discuss because we don't know who jumped on the table for him. Or who was the force behind disregarding him and thinking he needed to move to another position. But I watched a lot of Pitt back then and I knew Donald was going to wreck the NFL. I remember telling a bud of mine at the bar that he was going to be better than Randle. So I had zero doubts about him, and it surprised me how many NFL teams overanalyzed that one.

Bottom line here is the GM and scouts are pros. They're supposed to be special at evaluating and finding talent. So when they disregard a home town Hall of Famer like that, as an owner I would be downright livid. He should have been in black and gold.

It was the best killer b's era team with the one of 2017 when healthy but I will never believe they would been able to beat the patriots come playoffs time. Our secondary was bad in 2015(bottom 3 against the pass) and they had massive struggle to put pressure on the opposing QB with 4 players(2 things very important against Brady)...A old James Harrison was by far our best pass rusher and who was our 2nd best?...Rookie Dupree?,Moat?

I think that 2017 team could've beaten the Patriots in the playoffs at home in a shootout.

If Shazier was healthy, the chance would been better in 2017,this is for sure.AB was also out for the last 3 quarters in the regular season matchup against them too.It don't mean they would been able to beat them but the odds would been better

It was just so hard for us against the Pats. Seemed like the times where we were having success on D, Brady would eventually realize "oh...I can just throw it to Gronk every play".

Would have been good to see though. We only got Bell in 2 playoff runs. And only for about a quarter against the Pats (after he dominated the playoffs to that point).

I think a lot of that will be Tomlins doing, have you seen him with the interviews? I dont think I have ever seen a coach get this treatment before, it’s kind of strange. It’s like he’s an actor doing PR work for a movie. He just had another interview with NBC and hes talking about building a civilization on Minecraft.

He’s going to keep himself in the news cycle which will keep him going on this board all year!

Isn't he doing commentary or something this year?

Seems like they're trying to showcase their new add on on NBC?

My guess is that we get exposed to every bit of promotion he does because the algorithms know we follow the Steelers.

I intent to continue watching approximately 0% of the talking head type show that he is joining. I'm sure he'll do well because he's likeable and quotable and entertaining or whatever. But those shows are generally built for casual audiences IMO. So I don't think it will be all that interesting.

If he started a podcast where he would just talk to interesting people for an hour or whatever, I think it could be interesting. But it would depend on how curious he'd be in non-football things.

And when Gronk was out(like in the afc title game in 2016)for some reason the steelers had played soft zone coverage all game long!

I dont really get to see any of the pregame shows if thats where he landed like Cowher.

A new podcast just began with Schlereth, Wingo, Hoge and one more guy, Damien Lewis I think. I’ll tune into that, already caught some of their first episode. The pitch is something like all football no BS.

    It’s a good panel IMO.

    Thanks for the heads up.

My guess is that I'd like this more than the big network ones. Since it's a niche product, they can make it more in-depth than the networks can.

A man's gotta keep busy in retirement. :lolol:

Though Minecraft is a poor choice of game for a grown man. I'm partial to Eve Online myself when I want to get my nerd on.

Do you think Home Depot gave him a refund on the left over red paint he tried to return?
