Mike Tomlin is stepping down from the Steelers

It wasn't just a Tomlin decision if you think the OL coach wasn't involved too .

 

Are these same fans going to just blame McCarthy if Fautanu and McCormick fail by moving to the left side?

 

First of all, it's Haslam. Who the fưck is haslem? Secondly, Haslam bought the team for just over $1B and they are worth close to $5B today. That's a net gain of 400% in 14 years. That's one helluva a return. Haslam isnt going anywhere any time soon. Which means they continue to do dumb browns shít.

 

And who hired the OL coach, smart guy? Stick to just reposting tweets and leave your commentary out because it's lame AF.

 

Sometimes it makes sense to play a player out of position the Steelers had Seumalo at LG, McCormick got a chance to play as a rookie because Daniels got injured IIRC. Moving Jones wasn't ideal for his development but I don't think he has the makings of a franchise LT.

 

He came out of the closet a long time ago.

 

Tomlin is gone - we had some good times and some bad times. Take it for what it is.

I do think it’s interesting to hear the same people who complain about Tomlin, and his poor playoff record, turn around and celebrate McCarthy.

Let’s be honest, McCarthy and Tomlin have coached almost the same number of years and have very similar regular season and playoff W-L.

Tomlin had a poor W-L record in the playoffs, but McCarthy isn’t that much better (.4 vs .5). Lest we forget that McCarthy always had very good starting QBs (Farve, Rodgers, and Prescott). As good as Ben was, Rodgers was arguably among the best ever in his prime.

I wish McCarthy all the best, and will root for him and the teams success. Having said that, there is a fair chance we see more of the same in the next few years (assuming we don’t figure out a way to address the same problem areas that plague this team).

 

This is made even worse by the fact that, Amarius Mims (someone who happens to be a very good friend of Broderick Jones), is blossoming into one of the best Right Tackles in the NFL despite him being even more raw and more inexperienced than Broderick was coming out. Amarius exclusively played Right Tackle for fewer games yet Broderick played Left Tackle for far more.


Critique as much as one wants about Zac Taylor but he handled Amarius way better than Tomlin did Broderick.
