They will have to keep 6 for him to make the team

They had 8 on the roster last year to start the season last year:

Defensive Line (8): Keeanu Benton, Yahya Black, Daniel Ekuale, Derrick Harmon, Cameron Heyward, Logan Lee, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Esezi Otomewo

So 6 is probably the minimum.

Notre Dame has been a rock solid Defensive Factory for a while now. Even when Brian Kelly was around, those teams has some special gems. My personal favorite will always be Pre Injury Jaylon Smith.

Have not awarded a grade that high until Sonny Styles came out and finally beat him. Roquan Smith and Jack Campbell came close.

I like this guy, reminds me of Keisel Deisel…

Not sure why they are trying him at NT though? He seems like a pure DE to me.

    Because he's fat.

Saying he looks like a pure DE is like saying Rosie O'Donnell looks like a stripper.

Rubio has been a pleasant surprise. There was little to go ( Limited film and stats ) in college. As a young pro
he’s shown so good instincts locating the ball, solid hand usage to shed, and the ability to make tackles at a high rate for an interior guy. He’s been a force in run periods and has drawn positive comments from coaches and veterans for holding the point of attack and being tough to move. He plays strong and smart and uses his big body. For a big guy his motor is good.

He is has shown much more than Loudermilk and Lee two veterans who made past Steeler teams. Whomever scouted him deserves kudos.

Rubio and Spears are two late round draft finds.

I wouldn't have signed Benton to a rich contract. Or Watt. Or Pittman. Or Metcalf.
    Khan is slipping.

Maybe that's the case but he has to run it by "Run it Back" Rooney II first

I'm glad Lowdermilk is gone. Wasted pick and space.

    That brought back a vision

I had to chase my sister-in-law off of a blow up coconut tree at a Jimmy Buffet concert many years ago

    Amen, two years too long.

    Lee too.

Do NOT keep 7 or 8 DTs, interior DEs if you only play 4 or 5 all year. keeping two players that do nothing but sit, save for maybe FG or punt OL'ing is stupid.

Rubio has been a nice suprise, and by today it was obvious he'd make the team. But the UDFA Jobity? Good for him. He beat out guys like Otomewo and Lowry, who were both on the squad last year, so the kid earned it.
