Honestly who cares about Howard or Allar right now?

Everyone is so focused on Howard and Allar. I get it but the Steelers have significantly bigger issues to address right now. Our offensive line is a mess right now. The left side of the line should be ok from Frazier over. The right side is a mess. Both Tackles and guards have looked terrible on that side. The run blocking across the whole line has looked terrible. I do t know what the solution is for the right side. The two rookies clearly aren’t ready but clearly appear physically superior to what we are playing there now.

cook looked much better at LT. perhaps to start the season the best option is to move Fautanu back to RT and put Cook at LT and perhaps the RG position will settle down with Fautanu at RT. I honestly liked Nester better than Hoffman and Anderson at Guard.

‘The other big issue is our secondary. We don’t know what we’re going to get. With Porter out and Ramsey out we don’t know what to expect. I have never seen this many unknowns going into a season.

‘We better keep four QB’s we may need all of them the way this oline is blocking. I would honestly let go of Jones at this point and try to pick up another tackle on the waiver wire. He isn’t a functional Tackle in this league at this point. He needs a lot more time to get back to where he was which was average to begin with.

I'm with you. Khan definitely needs to swing a trade(s) for a stopgap(s) at RT and potentially RG until Imax and Dunker are ready. I was expecting the OL to be shakey as Fautanu and McCormick got reacquainted in their new roles and new faces on the right, but not disastrous. Unfortunately I don't think the answers are any of the healthy bodies in the room. If this OL doesn't get itself figured out, we should expect the worst season in 30 years. I guess the good news here is they have three weeks to figure this out.

Who cares about finding a franchise player at the most important position in football? I do.

Still way to early to rule Howard or Allar out for that position. And using Rodgers is just pushing it another year away.

I agree with what You first said, but not the 2nd.
People You need to stop looking at things like a fan, and look at the reality of the situations . These are real people, with real jobs that they don't want to get fired from. You seen those kids last night.
We have a new HC that has been fired from his last two jobs, and doesn't want to start his 1st season with a 2- 15 record. If Rodgers wasn't here they would be trying to bring someone else in

Nah, Howard isn't that guy he's a backup at best.

Which is precisely why those two need as much work as they can get in real game situations.

Steelers QB battle is the most interesting thing in the NFL during this preseason.

That’s because the Steelers have ZERO high skilled, in their prime, high leverage players.

I can not remember a time, even in the 80s where the Steelers didn’t have at least one position player that was an all pro type player. Freakin Bos is the only elite player on this team in his prime.

I agree with this. However, within the nature of the point of this thread is, does that truly matter if the right side of the OL is a disaster? I guess the good news here is they have plenty of time to look at outside options until Imax and Dunker are ready, so they don't have to break bank in the search.

Joey Porter, Jr. is pretty elite. I believe I read that he didn't allow a single TD last season. Metcalf and Pittman are also potentially all pros. Harmon has loads of potential, just watch the breakdown of what he did in the 2nd Ravens game last year on YouTube.

I do not, our season is predicated on AR staying healthy and having a GOOD year.

    All true and well put!

I look at it a little different because it's pre-season and I am hoping someone has a plan.

I really do care about the young QB's because I can't worry about how bad the O-line looks, or the unknowns on D. I think it is imperative that we "know" before the next draft what we have so we can spend our draft picks wisely. In my opinion, it would be irresponsible to end this season without "knowing" what these guys are capable of.

The NFL players have voted on the top 100 players in the NFL. Only 2 Steelers are on the list. TJ rated #41 and Jalen Ramsey voted #82. The NFL coaches and executives released a list last week of the top 25 players who are age 25 and younger. Zero Steelers are on it.

I saw tremendous potential with Allar. I believe he will become a star quarterback in the NFL. I hope Steelers' management doesn't let him slip away. Yes, the o'line sucks and that will likely sink serious playoff hopes. However, we have enough young talent to build our next dynasty with Allar (imho).

I anticipate Zach Frazier being in this category starting this year

But I understand what you mean

That’s great but if we aren’t blocking for them how can you evaluate the, properly?

I think, and again this is just my opinion, but that Z. Frazier, and JPJ are top 10, and very young players that will only get better.
