    Haha. I agree.

And if the Steelers finish 6-11, one-third of this board will be thrilled we didn't finish 10-7 and lose the first round playoff game again.

I think it was a lateral move for the Steelers. I fully expect them to remain in the state of mediocrity under McCarthy.

I love the hate that Mason Rudolph gets. Then he comes in and delivers.

Whatever guess we will find out.

Howard did not look good. The case for keeping four quarterbacks (which I already doubted) is pretty much closed.

Allar cooled off from his last start, and his receivers dropped a bunch of catchable balls. Guys like Cornell Powell, Levi Wentz, Jaheim Bell, and Joaquin Davis were letting throws hit the ground that should have been caught. All four of them are getting cut. Left with slowpoke Johnson running the ball (who might get cut himself), the third-string tight end, and the 5th- and 6th-best receivers on the roster… it was what it was.

I hope for our last preseason game Allar plays in the first half.

Howard looked good aside from the picks and it sounds as if Wilson was at least partially to blame for them.

not sure why everyone wants to hate on MM already. this whole staff he has put together is not going to day one step in here and be bound for the super bowl. we also haven't seen the starters play any significant football. pump the brakes. it won't happen in two preseason games with a lot of guys that won't be here in a couple of weeks.

The O line was so bad, there is no way to evaluate the QB's

Some coaches would have pulled Wilson after the first one. Not for causing it but for standing there watching the interceptor run with the ball. I wouldn't want a guy like that on the team.

I think he is going to be cut. Especially with how good Bernard looks.

Maybe he was but when the rubber meets the road he is still making the same mistakes that got him Benched because Rodgers didnt trust throwing to him.

Now we see why Roman lost playing time to Theilen and MVS last season.

When Ben played, the team had hall of famers like Bettis, Hines, Troy, Faneca, Dawson. He also had elite playes like AB, Plaxico, Leveon, Randle El, Porter, Farrior etc. The team was completely depleted of elite talent when Rudolph started in 2019. The best receiver JuJu and the best rb Conner were also hurt when he had his worst game against Browns and Bengals in 2019. The OL was a mess with Kendrick as a center. The only hall of fame candidate last few years that I can think of is TJ Watt and I am not certain of that. The time he had his best game in 2023, he had somewhat decent weapons with Pickens and DJ. I think Mason can be serviceable with decent wide receiver weapons, better play calling and a D that doesnt give up long drives to the opposition. This limits possession by the O and puts more pressure on them. Among the new QB, Howard is less talented but mentally tougher who hates to lose, but Allar has the tools but mentally softer.

Pretty good evaluation and for the most part I agree. Jeff Hartings was the center not Dawson as a rookie but who is also in he Hall of Honor and solid player.

Ben also was an elite QB and a different breed than Mason, but I do believe Mason is a quality backup that has shown he can play against NFL starters with success.

Agree. So, we can dispense with the "Rodgers doesn't like to play with young WRs", and replace with "Rodgers doesn't like to play with dumb WRs".

Howard moved the Steelers to the RZ twice
Young man just needs to figure out the short field

I have read a lot about how Howard is not an NFL caliber qb because he lacks arm strength. Let me be clear having a "cannon" for an arm is overrated .
They say Anthony Richardson has a "true cannon" for an arm. And...
how is that going for him?

You know who else was never known to have a cannon for an arm? Joe Montana.

Not comparing Howard to Montana but just making a point. Its about anticipation and accuracy. Kurt Warner and Drew Brees are other HOF qbs who were never known to have a cannon for an arm.

I see what you're doing here. Setting yourself up perfectly for an "I told you so!" moment if the Steelers happen to sh!t the bed this season.

No. I don't want to say I told you so, I want to say .....yes we are great, but that doesn't mean I won't say it if we suck. LoL.
Im a Steelers fan 1st, and foremost. I was a Steelers fan before I even knew who Cowher, and Tomlin were. I only knew of a HC of the name Chuck Noll back then, and guess what, when he left then I didn't want him to leave

You are correct, but when you are trying to be great it helps to have physical talents to help. Howards arm isn't as strong a Warner, I'll give you Brees maybe, and Montana for sure, but having weak arms didn't make them great, just like having a strong arm doesn't make Richardson good.
