The Steelers have already decided QB Will Howard will make the 53 man roster???

This is Dulac,so maybe it mean he will be cut....

 

Dulak has already guaranteed that Mason will be the backup QB for this year, so is he also saying that the Steelers are set to keep all 4 QBs on the 53-man roster?

 

They have already decided they are keeping their two young quarterbacks, Will Howard and Drew Allar.

If Dulac said that they both made the team then I'm afraid they'll both be cut and we bring in someone like Gardner Minshew as the #3 QB.

If the report is true then I would say this isn't rocket science. It's simply good business.

Mason Rudolph is a journeyman depth QB who is 8 years older than Will Howard and is a FA after the season, while Howard has a few years of cheap team control remaining.

Of course they're going to choose Howard. And again it's not like it really matters because neither of them are ever going to do anything noteworthy as a QB1 at this level. But if they keep the young QB with team control the QB roster has two young players to fight over backup duties in 2027 or maybe by some miracle the bridge QB role while the 2027 draft pick gets a redshirt.

Call me crazy but I think we're gonna be ok now because we have a competent offensive brain trust calling the shots, who are going to make sound decisions at the QB position. They're not gonna be able to turn chicken excrement into chicken salad, however. We'll still have to endure more pain if old man Rodgers can't stay healthy.

 

Howard and Allar both stunk, but I still think Rudolph will be the odd man out. I'd be very surprised if they keep all 3.

 

If true that's just bad roster management, they should release Howard and then try to sign him to the practice squad if they lose him no big deal. I would rather use that roster spot on another DL or safety.

 

It would be foolish to lose Howard with such a small body of work. RW may have contributed to the two picks. The O-line would have made Ben in his prime look bad.

 

After Howard's first pick I see why Roman is usually in the doghouse. He just stood there and watched the Jets DB run down the field after the pick.

 

He had kind of a Neil O'Donnell performance last night. Not too bad except for the 2 picks.

 

That's the media floating a story for the organization to see the impact if they actually cut Howard. No way they keep him other than the PS if they can. He isn't any good at the NFL level and the offense did not respond to him at all.
