Young Bucks are not nearly ready to play QB in the NFL
    Mason's backup job is safe

Me neither. I predicted 8-9 for a reason. Tonight exposed one of my red flags and that's the OL. If they can't get this line figured out, my 8 win projection is an optimistic one.

True, if either one plays this year then you know the wheels have completely fallen off the team's wagon. But every snap they take here in pre-season is valuable learning experience whether good or bad.

I picked 11 wins, because if we can win 10 wins back to back to back, and everyone tells me Tomlin sucked, than if a HC comes in thats supposed to be all that, and a bag of chips, surely they can win at least 1 more game

Drew threw the ball pretty well. Receivers didn't help him out at all.

I figured with a better OLC and better offensive system, the OL would be better as individuals and as a collective at this stage. There'd obviously be some bumps in the road as guys like Fautanu and McCormick relearn their natural positions and such, but the right side is dreadful. We might have to swing a trade for a RG and hope Cook can (somehow) improve until Max gets healthy. Might have to rush Max in there earlier than expected.

I picked 6 wins because I always thought McCarthy was an underachiever and kind of a buffoon. I was relieved when Tomlin resigned but pissed beyond belief when we hired McCarthy.

If Rodgers gets hurt, this team will go down quick.

Yes, and I was never a Tomlin fan or hater. I thought he did well having winning records with gawd awful QB's but underachieved when we had the killer bees. So I was always kind of meh concerning Tomlin.

I've always been a fan, but I have been a fan of all the coaches I've seen coach for the Steelers, and thats only 3, but I wasn't a huge fan until Ben left. I actually thought Ben was what made Tomlin not have bad seasons, and then I seen differently.
I want to be a fan of McCarthy because Hes from Pittsburgh, and because I don't want to suck, so I need us to win.

Draft mag said Vegas has Steelers as 24th of 32 longest odds to win the Super Bowl. so if the teams actually finish in that position would give us the #8 overall draft pick in the 2027 draft.

We have no idea what reality is yet.

We're watching a team with a new head coach and coaching staff and a new offensive system. The team is barely playing any starters and both starting receivers are out injured. The two quarterbacks that you just watched play hadn't taken a snap in an NFL game before last week. Until we see all the starters play and the team gets a little bit of football under their belts, they may struggle from time to time early in the season.

Why on earth would anybody think they know what this team is going to look like or how they will perform?

We're really not going to know everything we need to know about McCarthy until he has about two years into this. He'll be starting a new quarterback next year so expecting everything to be great right out of the gate isn't very realistic.

There were two issues with the Steelers the last decade. Tomlin couldn’t develop players and the Steelers kept drafting busts.

Played well enough to win but never be a title contender. The Charlotte Bobcats of the NFL.

Well the Steelers may not have played well tonight but I can see from the reaction that the board is in midseason form.

Far as I'm concerned nothing has changed. If Rodgers stays healthy I think this offense will probably be strong. If we lose him we're gonna be drafting in the top half of the round.

Tonight they did some good things, but poor QBing got in the way of drives finishing. Behind the mistakes there was a complementary run game balance early, both lines looked good I thought early on as well, at least until they got deeper into the depth chart.

Bring on the season. Oh wait there's another game left isn't there.

I'm sure the team not getting a single snap from TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Joey Porter Jr., Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, and Michael Pittman, Max Iheanachor, and Gennings Dunker may have had something to do with it.

I'm sure the team only playing Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick one series probably has something to do with it as well.

Most teams don't give their starters a ton of snaps, but a new coaching staff, new systems being implemented, and a ton of star players not in the game can make any team look bad.

Can’t speak about team as a whole yet. Haven’t really seen them play as a unit.

But we can chill out on the Howard hype. Dude just doesn’t have an NFL caliber arm. The end. He’s always gonna get in trouble when he’s got to drive the ball.
