Drew Allar was in complete control.

For me?! I have him graded as a second round pick based off his 2025 tape. Biggest issue for me?! Lack of emotional control; too moody and uncomfortable.


Arch isn't like Peyton or Eli. He wears his emotions on his sleeves. In 2025, this proved to be worse for him. That said, he did pick it up at the end of the season; a major silver lining for him.

For me?! I have a Fifth Round Grade on him. He is way too uncomfortable inside the pocket, holds onto the ball too long, has inconsistent release times throwing the football and has very questionable pre snap processing ability. He is a phenomenal QB outside of structure and can make many WOW plays. The issue is there isn't enough good within the fundamentals to justify drafting a QB who's sole play style is revolved around being dynamic while forsaking the basics.



Quarterbacks in the NFL simply doesn't work that way. Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are exceptions; not rules.

For me, Julian Sayin is a legitimate First Round QB. Beyond having a lightning fast release, great pre snap processing speed, excellent ball placement, great touch on his throes, rock solid footwork, rock solid fundamentals and rock solid pocket management skills, his greatest weapon is the deep ball. No other QB in College Football was more accurate than Julian Sayin; 25 of 40 (62.5%) on throws 20 yards or greater to his credit.


Dante Moore and CJ Carr also fit into this but these two have different superpowers in comparison. Dante has some of the best Pocket skills since Joe Burrow and CJ Carr has some of the fastest pre snap processing skills and release speed I have ever scouted.


Such traits sound uninteresting. However, baseline fundamental attributes to a position that is largely tied to the basics, fundamentals and principles matter a lot more in the NFL where the game is simply much harder and much faster. Those "boring" traits carry over.


Overall?! The traits I have outlined for Sayin, Carr and Moore matter a whole lot more than having a bazooka arm with a fast 40 time. Remember this; there is a massive different between athletes who play QB vs QBs who are naturally athletic. Of the two, the latter is historically the superior choice.

If Arch stays in school for the 2027 season he will be 24 years old for the 2028 draft, I think he comes out next year.

Yes he will have earned around 25 million after he's done in college. That's about the same that Mason Rudolph has earned in his 9th year in the NFL.

Certainly possible. For example if Rodgers somehow stays healthy and plays the full season and playoffs (I think we get in this year), and a QB they like is on the board at any point of the draft, I have to think they take the QB.

Only way that doesn't happen is if Allar gets enough playing time this year to show enough growth to convince them he's the future. Lot of things need to line up for that to happen.

 

Yeah for Allar to take one snap this season means that the team has completely fallen apart.

 

If Arch has a really good year, I don't see the point of him playing for Texas in 2027. It would be risky to stay in college another year if it looks like he's NFL ready, and it will just delay him from getting NFL experience.
